No idea, probably. But all i'd have to do is change "starcraft.exe" to "whatever.exe" And i get this wine: could not load L"C:\\windows\\system32\\starcraft.exe": Module not found When i try to open it with this wine program files\starcraft\starcraft.exe i get this wine: could not load L"C:\\windows\\system32\\program.exe": Module not found Or when i try this wine c:\program files\starcraft\starcraft.exe I get this wine: cannot find 'c:program' I'm new to wine. First time i've tried using it.

Ohh, No i use KDE. Not as big of a Gnome fan. And the game works perfectly, But i have issues with the map editor. I pretty much can't do anything advanced (make ramps put down trees ect ect) because the doodad and brush tools close as soon as i move my mouse. Any ideas why that might be? If you say open it using the terminal please explain how. Cause wine starcraft.exe doesn't work..

I use KDE, Didn't know Pardus came in Gnome. (and thanks used to play it when i was 9) Had to reinstall WINE fresh. Here is what it says when i am installing starcraft ~ $ wine /media/sr0/install.exe wine: created the configuration directory '/home/Mitch/.wine' Could not load Mozilla. HTML rendering will be disabled. Error: API mismatch: the NVIDIA kernel module has version 173.14.12, but this NVIDIA driver component has version 177.80. Please make sure that the kernel module and all NVIDIA driver components have the same version. NVIDIA: Direct rendering failed; attempting indirect rendering. wine: configuration in '/home/Mitch/.wine' has been updated. fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 24000 (device=2 access=1 func=0 method=0) fixme:bitblt:X11DRV_ClientSideDIBCopy potential optimization: client-side color-index mode DIB copy fixme:bitblt:X11DRV_ClientSideDIBCopy potential optimization: client-side color-index mode DIB copy fixme:wave:wodPlayer_Reset shouldn't have headers left fixme:wave:wodPlayer_Reset shouldn't have headers left fixme:wave:wodPlayer_Reset shouldn't have headers left fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 24000 (device=2 access=1 func=0 method=0) fixme:ntdll:server_ioctl_file Unsupported ioctl 24000 (device=2 access=1 func=0 method=0) fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub fixme:shell:DllCanUnloadNow stub fixme:bitblt:X11DRV_ClientSideDIBCopy potential optimization: client-side color-index mode DIB copy
The line "fixme:wave:wodPlayer_Reset shouldn't have headers left" pops up when i highlight anything in the menu. And i've been trying but i can't run StarCraft in the terminal

Swap is 6GB twice the size as the amount of RAM i have, And i am using default FireFox that came with Pardus. I'll remove flash and update it to the new version to see if i get better performance.
And to Mhmrcs, I bought this computer before i first used Linux, So i spent hundreds on my new PC that happened to come with Vista. Not cause i wanted Vista.

Assistance / Pardus for beginners / Pardus running slow
|
on: October 24, 2008, 22:56:26 PM

I've been using Pardus for about 2 months now after switching from Kubuntu 8.04 (that beats KDE till it's dead and beats it more..)
And i saw a HUGE improvement in speed. But recently i had to go back to Windows and i noticed a enormous speed improvement.
FireFox loads pages faster and smoother, Scrolling isn't chunky.
3D Apps run much smoother.
Programs open a lot faster.
Is this normal? I hear that Linux is suppose to be worlds faster then Windows, But every distribution seems to be slower.. And i use Vista so thats saying a lot.. (other then Ubuntu, but it breaks a lot)
So if anyone could help explain why this is it would be great. thanks.

Assistance / Pardus for beginners / KBFX error causing crashes
|
on: October 07, 2008, 04:03:51 AM

I've been trying to use KBFX to change the menu style for a while but anytime i click apply or quit then it causes a crash.
The Error i get is "The application kbfxconfigapp (kbfxconfigapp) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)" and when i click backtrace it says "Could not generate a backtrace as the debugger 'gdb' was not found"
EDIT: I found out even if you don't change anything and open it then click exit it does the same.
I am using Pardus 2008.1
there is also an error on the side panel below the panel with the options (themes, start button, Fonts, Ect.) that says "an error occurred while loading file:///tmp/kde-Username/menu.html the file may not exsist" Next to it i also get an error "an error occurred while loading file:///tmp/kde-Username/main.php the file may not exsist"
I've uninstalled it twice and i'm using KBFX 0.4.9.3.1 from the repos..

Assistance / Pardus for beginners / .ogm/.mkv DVD author and/or convertor.
|
on: October 06, 2008, 03:04:03 AM
|
Hi, I've asked this question a lot over at Ubuntu forums but with no answer. So i left the buggy Kubuntu and came here, Hopefully you all can help me I have some .ogm and .mkv video files i'd like to put on DVD But every DVD authoring program i find doesn't support those files.. (in my case DeVeD and qDVDAuthor) But if someone could point me to a convertor i'd gladly just use those programs after converting my files. So please. Save me from my insanity!

I selected the new Kicker style menu, But i want to use a theme i found which requires kbfx which your new menu doesn't support (i don't think because anytime i use kbfx it crashes it on exit)
So how do i change the menu style to the orginal KDE?
