The background was originally orange, but I had to make it greyscale for the contrast.
It does take a while to burn, about 20 minutes if memory serves

I used inkscape for the design, and then GIMP to adjust the colours and contrast.

I'll see if I have any source files still

I have no idea why, but when I set the nvidia driver and rebooted, it was fine.
I even got compiz to half work.

No idea what I did different, so i'm stumped..

Is there any way to make yourself root for a series of commands?
It only seems to apply to the 4L-gui command, any that LaCie makes appear to be done outside of sudo

When I try using the nv driver, everything is in black and white rectangles..

The problem I was having is that I wanted to burn the image directly onto the top surface of my LightScribe cd, rather than print them out and stick them on

I've installed LaCie lightscribe software, but when trying to burn,
I get an error "Printing requires root privileges"

I've tried running 4L-gui using "Terminal Program - Super User Mode"
but I still get the same problem..

Any ideas?

Still having problems..
Can get the res I want (1024x768) using the VESA driver, but the nvidia (new) driver still won't work for me.
I've ordered a GeForce 7300 (GT, I think) so I hope that will work better
