The background was originally orange, but I had to make it greyscale for the contrast. It does take a while to burn, about 20 minutes if memory serves I used inkscape for the design, and then GIMP to adjust the colours and contrast. I'll see if I have any source files still

Assistance / Software / Re: LaCie requires root privileges

Thanks for the help, but that didn't work either Is there any way to make yourself root for a series of commands? It only seems to apply to the 4L-gui command, any that LaCie makes appear to be done outside of sudo

i'm very sorry about posting yet another topic on this (can a mod remove my last topics?) here's the link for them, plus a tutorial on how to install the LaCie LightScribe software. (I can't get it to run properly at the moment though, I've posted a topic in the software section) http://www.box.net/shared/jr7dfkel02The files are too big to post as an attachment, that is why I am linking to them instead.

Assistance / Software / LaCie requires root privileges
|

I've installed LaCie lightscribe software, but when trying to burn, I get an error "Printing requires root privileges"
I've tried running 4L-gui using "Terminal Program - Super User Mode" but I still get the same problem..
Any ideas?

Still having problems.. Can get the res I want (1024x768) using the VESA driver, but the nvidia (new) driver still won't work for me. I've ordered a GeForce 7300 (GT, I think) so I hope that will work better
