I've got a device, which is working fine in Pardus, but does not work in Gentoo. I suspect it to be a Gentoo kernel configuration problem. Where can I get the .config file (/usr/src/linux/.config), which was used to build the default Pardus kernel? Maybe developers can share it.

So, as far as I can see, you can have two KDE installations and switch between them "on the fly"? Are there any conflicts with that?

I'm doing it like this: before reinstallation login as root and rename /home/<username_dir> to something like /home/old. Reboot, reinstall the system and copy everything from /home/old to new user's home.

/dev/sda1 is ext3? If so you just need to correct the last string in fstab.
