Is there anything under Games/Desktop that's missing? Anything else that can be uploaded?
I'd just like to ask the readers of this topic to download and seed these torrents, Pardus will be the first distribution in the world with torrent repositories, allowing users to review programs under "Comments", and torrents allow for more flexible downloading than PiSi.
332  General / General topics / Re: Bye bye Pardus 2008 on: October 22, 2008, 19:17:39 PM
I've been using Ubuntu 8.04 since it came out, its manure.

GNOME is unstable, and cannot handle 3-D games (any full-screen games for that matter).
Ubuntu is very proprietary, they have very strict restrictions on how someone can remix their distro etc.
Ubuntu support of firmware is inferior to Pardus.

I'd like to wish you a good day, but, in using Ubuntu, you have crushed that hope.

Long Live
PARDUS
333  General / General topics / Re: Why does Pardus constantly stall and freezes? on: October 22, 2008, 19:11:55 PM
Thanks Smiley

Pressed Control-Alt-Esc, nothing happened... Usually when someone reccomends a shortcut on the internet an application closes or such etc. What does it mean? lol

Nvu is included is in the repositories and can be downloaded using the Package Manager.
335  General / General topics / Re: KDE4.1 anyone? on: October 22, 2008, 19:07:55 PM
I tried to Pardus KDE 4 live CD, it was noticeably slower than KDE 3, I hear KDE 4 has a tonne of bugs that need to be sorted anyways. Still, I hope its included in the next iteration of Pardus, which to be will always be the best KDE distro (Kubuntu is awful).
336  General / General topics / Re: English PardusWiki on: October 22, 2008, 19:02:15 PM
Hey, I've been adding things to PardusWiki recently, is there anything particular you'd like to see included?

Thank you for raising awareness, PardusWiki/Forum are the only ways we can introduce new users to Pardus, and people are completely ignoring the latter.

(Lingvo was not available)
(http://intertran.tranexp.com/Translate/result.shtml = Produces very broken translationans)

Utter disaster.
One of the writers of the magazine is a Turkish developer I keep in contact with, I'm sending him an email asking him to offer an English version of the magazine.

Sorry no ones welcomed you, but, better late than ever. Welcome to Pardus! If you have any question please don't hesitate to ask, Pardus-Wiki (http://en.pardus-wiki.org/Main_Page) is a great resource for beginners.
339  Assistance / Pardus for beginners / Re: [solved] First time to download a distro, which kde file do I choose? on: October 22, 2008, 17:07:39 PM
Not much point to mention now, but:
http://en.pardus-wiki.org/Pardus:Download
There is always support for you on PardusWiki as well if you want to check something up quickly, but it won't be as indepth and comprehensive as this forum.
When downloading Pardus, md5sum and sha1sum are checksums used to check that the software you've downloaded isn't corrupted. During installation you can check the CD for errors, the binary of the CD is taking through an algorithm which determines a certain code (like a barcode which identifies a product), if the codes match, then the software is valid.

I'd reccomend torrent downloading, you won't be able to tell the difference in terms of download speeds, plus it continuously uploads (I seed current Pardus torrents 24/7), and plus, you'll be able to contribute by seeding the torrent and contributing to others in the Pardus community.

I like the current theme, its tasteful Smiley
341  General / The Pub / Re: Browser on: October 22, 2008, 16:24:10 PM
I think Firefox can be very stable and I like its open community (add ons etc), but its logo etc are proprietary, its not fully open source, however, I can see no suitable alternative thus far.

I think Google Chrome should, once its ported to Linux, (then to Pardus through .pisi), be the default browser (if its faster than Firefox.

Excellent idea.
I tried to translate the webpage online, this... unfortunately failed miserably. I'm currently downloading Windows-platform software which I'm going to run under Wine to translate the web page. The finished copy will be made available here, PardusWiki, and ThePirateBay (thepiratebay.org/user/Mhmrcs).

I'll keep posting messages on this topic updating the current situation.

(Babylon does not work)

*** Please note that the finished copy (if indeed there will be one) will be in broken English (or any other language its translated into).
343  General / Wish list / Google Gadgets Transparency on: October 22, 2008, 15:25:55 PM
The default appearance of Google Gadgets is a grey, opaque bar to the right of your Pardus desktop, I think it should be configured to be transparent by default.

>Excellent Site<

OpenSuse is also sponsored by Microsoft... I think thats discouraging enough to the average Linux user to put it on your site lol.
