As a last resource, you can run another distro virtually (VirtualBox etc) such as Fedora (.rpm) or Ubuntu (.deb) that SciDaVis is native on.

Is it not possible to assign a shortcut through TASMA by pressing the eject button? (Is the eject button recognised?)

I'm the same as waterfietser, does your MacBook have a stop button (i.e. a square)? Many distros allocate this button for ejecting CD/DVDs.

This will sound like a stupid suggestion: Did any errors occur during installation? Have you tried re-installing it? Alternatively, you can browse the C: drive through WINE and execute the program from Program Files.

Interesting and useful program, but I am totally opposed to the monitoring of a persons screen - if that person has an account on the machine, it is their responsibility to their time sensibly, this program goes against user freedoms.
