Hm... Don't quite understand, when you go to the "Upgradeable Packages" can't you select which updates are installed?  Undecided

79  General / General topics / Re: How did you hear about Pardus? on: November 02, 2008, 03:16:49 AM
@ Lisa, exactly! GNOME flickers, and it doesn't do fullscreen games well (whenever I tried) etc, I really don't like it under Ubuntu based distros e.g. Mint.

@ AlanGB, wait... you didn't like the picture of the odd hyaena staring at you? How strange...

@ Willem, I totally agree, I think its the most similar to Windows, in terms of installation and interface, I think Windows users would be right at home with it.

Thats it, you check the boxes and you see the effects instantly - Unless you don't have your graphics card driver installed...

Hey! Lol, I love GNOME Tongue Just a tad unstable... but KDE 4 blows it out of the water I admit - the whole "Desktop" and "Home" folder on the desktop in a tasteful black transparent "box" is an incredible idea.

If you don't want the updates, disable Package Manager from the notification area, you will then receive no more notification - but you have to open Package Manage and look for upgradable packages manually if you want updates... still - works for me Smiley
87  General / Wish list / Re: Tribler on: November 02, 2008, 02:55:08 AM
Wow, I thought it was really new - I never really heard about it until I read an article about it in LinuxToday, its possible they just don't think its popular enough.

I've been thinking more about it, without sites like TPBay and Mininova, we wouldn't know if a torrent is any good (ratings, comments etc)...
88  General / The Pub / Re: What are you listening to? on: November 02, 2008, 02:53:00 AM
Relient K - Be My Escape (Although I'll be listening to Life Is a Highway next)

Great idea for a topic - Now sticky.
89  General / General topics / Re: How to install flash player? on: November 01, 2008, 17:22:05 PM
Run: Package Manager
Search: "flash"
You may notice two plugins, depending on whether you've updated your list or not, one is Flash 9, the other is Flash 10, if you're currently using Flash 10, degrade to Flash 9 (F10 has notable bugs which may be preventing you from viewing .swf files), if you're using F9 (which is less likely), upgrade to F10.
Check: [^Appropriate packages]
flashplugin-9.0.124.0-13-1.pisi                              09-Apr-2008 21:13  2.2M
flashplugin-10.0.12.36-17-2.pisi                            22-Oct-2008 18:54  2.9M
Install the packages, then restart your browser.

Make sure (if you have it installed) that NoScript allows both "youtube.com" and "ytime" (or similar).

<Fingers cross> My hope lies in bug fixes that are made by Fedora etc, that are using KDE 4, to be included in Pardus, but you're probably right.
