I'm exactly the same way, unless something is utterly stable, they're no point in releasing a decent feature like that. I'm just hoping it wil be stable by around December when 2008.2 comes out.

^ Just to see what the general consensus is, I like GNOME, but Ubuntu's instability in dealing with it put me off (or maybe it was because Ubuntu's based on Debian?).

What do you think should be used as the default desktop enviroment for Pardus 2008.2

Lol, fair point, theres a lot of advertising about hardware, but they have pretty good articles about computing in general (nothing windows specific etc).

I'v never tried Mint, is it just a bloated version of GNOME?

I don't think its a "bug" per se. NVIDIA installed just fine on Vista and everything ran like fluid. I used Ubuntu (GNOME), which made my system very unstable, since then I simply did not install NVIDIA drivers. When I started using Pardus I used Compiz - My system turned unstable after a week (slow response rate etc, windows dissapearing when I tried to drag them etc). NVIDIA need to work on their intergration with the Linux platform.

I didn't do much, but you're welcome in any case Smiley

Downloaded and ran the application with no problem (and no graphics card installed), Redwave - Did you install the Gecko engine? Its crucial, try re-installing it.

Sorry to hear that Alan - There must be a bug in the upgrading process, I'll file a bug report.

@ Ch00k, English only please, it makes moderation of inappropriate language etc, difficult, also, far fewer people will be able to understand you. If you wish to have your language included as a Board under International Users please apply for one.

Amule is somewhat lacking, as is Limewire etc, passive P2P file sharing has strong limitations, I'd personally reccomend installing either KTorrent (High speeds), or Transmission (Cleaner interface), for detailed information:

My system configuration, and computer architecture almost certainly differs from Redwave's, I don't even use the default KDE. I trusted in Redwave's common sense in trying out "Yes" and "No, > in posting this topic he obviously could not get the game working ergo failed to start. He used WINE, he did not get the program working, I'm not saying "Don't use WINE", I'm saying: "Use an emulator that will provide a long-term solution to any Windows-platform specific programs".

However, Ch00k, you make a good point - I'm downloading the game now.

^This site offers pretty substantial discounts at any rate. Have you tried MicroMart (weekly)?

Consider trying other "emulators" (I know, I know - WineIsNotAnEmulator - what is it?) packages (PlayOnLinux) etc, it could be a recent Metin update etc, it is classified as usable by WINE.

@ tuxedup - LOL - I played that! Fantastic game, I got to level 9 or so on Attack/Defense, I wandered off the beginners island and was instantly killed... I couldn't find a sword etc, in my opinion, its RuneScape done right (I think the combat coding needs work). Have you tried Glest? (Its a fantasy Age Of Mythology - I'd reccomend it to anyone - Its the best non-shooter game on Linux on my opinion.)
