2251  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: network connection from pardus to pardus on: November 09, 2008, 10:12:24 AM
I think that VNC "Virtual Network Computing" is something you are looking for?
As this is a whole new item for me, this is all I can report about it for this moment.
I will start working on this one and maybe with some help from other people it will end in a Wiki page.
Who knows what the future will bring !  Wink

2254  Assistance / Laptop / Re: How to activate Eject CD button on MacbookPro on: November 08, 2008, 12:42:51 PM
The command is:
Quote
eject device name
and 'device name' has the form /dev/sr0 or /dev/sr1
Have a look  Pardus > Programs > System > KinfoCenter > CD-ROM information
or  Pardus > Programs > Mutimedia > K3b > Settings > Configure K3b > Devices.
Also try a Google with "man eject".  Wink
2255  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Update hangs while downloading Kernel on: November 07, 2008, 21:42:12 PM
My advice:
Start the update process again and it will show your kernel update again, but it will not download the package again.
It will download the rest of the packages, and when everything has been downloaden. it will start installing the packages.
This is my experience until now.

Yes.
2259  Assistance / Laptop / Re: wireless has stopped working.... on: November 06, 2008, 12:33:02 PM
....... It might have something to do with the kernel- upgrade. ......
Try Tasma>System>History manager to find out "something to do with the kernel- upgrade".
2260  Assistance / Laptop / Re: wireless has stopped working.... on: November 06, 2008, 10:28:06 AM
My wireless has stopped working on my laptop. Only way to make it work is to first activate it in windows,
You have a dualboot system with Windows? Which Windows XP, Vista, etc?
....., then reboot. Then it's working again.
Do you have to repeat this procedure every time you switch on the laptop?
Does anyone has a clue how to solve this?
Is the problem solved when you remove the connection and then create a new connection in Tasma>Internet & network>Network manager?
The ethernet on my desktop also stopped working for a time. But then it worked again.
Does this mean that it isn't a problem anymore on the desktop?
Or is the problem in the router as both computers show a strange behavior?

Have a look in this topic about the Disc Manager missing in Pardus 2008.
And especially in Comment  #9 of the  bug report.
Maybe

if you want permanent solution, run "update-fstab" as root
will solve your problem?
But first make a backup of your /etc/fstab file.
I hope this will help......... Smiley

Have a look in the properties of the original and renamed folder.
Right click > Properties > Permissions.
Maybe it will help.
