17  Assistance / Hardware / Task Bar and icons turn yellow on: September 28, 2009, 05:44:04 AM
The task bar and icons on my computer turn yellow under pardus sometimes. I think it has something to do with opening a certain type of file or a certain program but i havent figured it out yet.
Has this happened to anyone else?

That worked but it was a hassle, why cant it skip the trash can on its own?
19  Assistance / Hardware / Wireless wont connect on startup on: September 27, 2009, 16:07:34 PM
When I turnon my computer my wireless attempts to connect then says, could not authenticate IP address ( i think). But if i just turn the wireless off and on in network manager. Everything works perfectly... it has something to do with startup.

how do i fix this?
20  Assistance / Pardus for beginners / File too big for trash on: September 27, 2009, 15:58:56 PM
I get this error
Code:
The trash has reached its maximum size!
Cleanup the trash manually.

What am i supposed to do? I assume the file is too big for the trash.

OK I tried dragon player and it did work.
SMPlayer plays the movie and then it just freezes after 1min or so. I can go the another part of the movie and it just does the same thing.

This is what the two players told me:
SMPlayer
Code:
Video
Resolution
640 x 360
Aspect ratio
1.7778
Format
XVID
Bitrate
1191 kbps
Frames per second
25.000
Selected codec
ffodivx

Initial Audio Stream
Format
85
Bitrate
128 kbps
Rate
44100 Hz
Channels
2
Selected codec
mp3

Dragon Player doesnt seem to tell me anything about what its doing.

This is the closed driver which works with AGP cards
I don't think this has anything to do with the type of interface (AGP, PCI, PCIE or ....)

Well for windows, you have to use the 173 drivers from NVidia. The 173 is the last driver that supported AGP cards, according to NVidia.

Is there some reason why I tend to have better luck playing videos in windows with the K-Lite Codec Mega pack than linux?
Are there some codecs which are not in linux?

This is the closed driver which works with AGP cards
Code:
module-nvidia173                  - Kernel module for NVIDIA driver 173.14.xx releases
module-nvidia173-userspace        - Userspace documentation, tools, udev and modprobe rules for the kernel driver nvidia173
xorg-video-nvidia173              - NVIDIA drivers for GeForce 5 series GPUs

Should I post it in the bug forum?

This means you are not using the nouveau driver and therefore there is no need to delete the entry in Grub.

Crud wrong post but with the closed Nvidea drivers i also get the blinking cursor at start-up. http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index.php?topic=2888.0 Thread

So Im just avoiding this kernel until its fixed.

Is there any sort of a timeline on this bug being removed from Pardus? I just deleted the entry for that kernal in my grub as a solution  Tongue
