Another issue look at /etc/hosts

it leaves references to Pardus2011, even if you've changed your hostname.
Ihave now amended mine and the whole desktop is snappier

Then I will not complain on the repo more. Smiley

And about the limited manpower they are not so few anymore:

"With more money coming from the government we are hiring new people. We plan to have more than 40 by the end of 2010 and at least 50 by the end of 2011. This is a sizable growth, considering we are 20 right now."

UBuntu had over 100 in 2008 ......
puts 40 which sounds high in more context

extract tarball tar xvf google-talkplugin_current_i386.tar.gz
or right click extract, then browse  to see the structure.

then sudo rm the file the ff work again, the dangers of precompiled software Smiley
37  Assistance / Bugs / Re: firefox crash on: February 01, 2011, 07:12:59 AM
depends how you installed.....
if installed as user (no request for password) it will be in .mozilla/firefox/plugins

if it asked for root password, it could be in a few different locations but there is usually an uninstaller too.
 /usr/lib/browser-plugins is pardus default

are other places to look

Did you use the compiled plugin or make from source?

Hey Alexy could you post the build files.

Also packages should be checked on a clean install, eg run the live disk or if you have enough space a seperate install with no extras installed.

We (Pardus-Linux.Org from Turkey) prepare 2011 repo and we are planning to announce it in February.

February tomorrow Smiley /waits with bated breath
44  General / General topics / Re: A Linux software/app store. on: January 31, 2011, 10:50:15 AM
this could only work though if all apps came with neccessary static libs to run and not using shared libs.

E.g now we install libs in  /lib and it is used and all in repo are compiled against same version.
Under this system app would need to install in apps/programname and under there you would have /bin /lib data etc.

It is cleaner and only one package needs to be produced and it should in theory run happily on any distro.
This kind of suggestion has been proposed several times in the past

Hi libpng should be installed by default?

check with pisi sr libpng if its red its installed.

I have just tried the 64bit and it runs here. (I cannot test if it will install rockbox no suitable player)......

looked at the source tarball for packaging it will be a lot of work as the firmware files need to be generated  to compile the tools....
Also the nightmare of testing to see if works correctly, there are so many devices rockbox supports....
the pre-compiled script thought would be simple, but again the testing....

just my 2c...
