Some news: it seems, that PLO has stopped anka transfer.  Huh?
17  Assistance / Pardus Project / Re: Pardus Workshop Conclusion translated on: March 29, 2012, 12:38:23 PM
Pardus Workshop Conclusion is just a nonsence and vague. What are we going to do? Do we have any suggestions?
18  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Roadmap - Workshop on: March 29, 2012, 11:54:39 AM
Guys, this is not a roadmap, this is nonsence.

"No point of community distribution, it could only stay alive with TUBITAK." <- nonsence
"International distribution should start using another distribution as a base could make work load off relatively." <- nonsence.

Do we have any real suggestions? Guys from pardus-linux.org don't want to do anything Sad (May be not all)
Ex-developers don't want to help (may be not all).
19  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Fork on: March 22, 2012, 14:37:55 PM
I would like to test this repository and perhaps use it for updates but it appears that it isn't indexed so I can't just install packages using pisi...

Are there more instructions somewhere else that I am missing or is it currently not going to be used with pisi?
* tribunal is waiting too Smiley Write about index-problem in facebook Smiley
20  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus is dead??? on: March 15, 2012, 14:22:41 PM
I have been away for a while, did I hear correctly that this, my favorite Linux is dead, and how close to a fork?
Welcome back Smiley
We are waiting till the end of the workshop.
We have new resources for a potencial fork (sites, servers, developers).
But right now we are just waiting.
And, of course, the main problem is a lang-border. For example, I can't speak turkish at all.
There are hundreds of people waiting.
21  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Fork on: March 06, 2012, 16:34:31 PM
From Facebook:

There was a Turkisch Post with 'Pardus 2012.3' in it. So I got curious and asked to Translate it in English. This is the reply from one of the members:

Quote
That's about a new Pardus contrib repo that contains the latest version of applications (kernel 3.2.5, KDE4.8, FF 10 etc..) were packed by Pardus users + PLO repo + Pardus Stable repo.
We are still working on it. Once the new repo enabled, we will announce it here and call for testers.

I don't think there was a direct link to the repo, though only links to official repo's etc... I think they will post it soon Wink

Greets,
Tristan

Thank you Smiley
We all are waiting  Roll Eyes After workshop we will start our "secret plans" by uniting all of them.
I hope, this workshop will be something better, than elections in Russia (they are just a garbage).
22  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Fork on: March 06, 2012, 14:19:51 PM
There is a saying in Turkish: "Silent like a grave!".
In Dutch it's about the same.

....... is waiting for the workshop silently.
Me too... and if if it's needed, work on my future plan.

Please, write your secret plan in english Smiley
23  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Fork on: February 17, 2012, 11:07:55 AM
So, we are waiting too)
I am waiting too.........
In the mean time some folks at PardusUser.de are trying to keep Pardus a safe system by providing updated/new packageges in our repo.
In the past few days I have added
  • chromium-browser-18.0.1027.0-58
  • firefox-10.0.1-168
  • opera-11.61-39
And there are more to come Wink

And thank you for it Smiley I hope, this workshop will be a real way to ... to do something.
There is a problem with lang-borders Sad
24  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Fork on: February 17, 2012, 10:00:10 AM
I am waiting for an answer from tribunal.
Besides this ^^^ my current opinion is that we have to wait for the final result of the "Workshop" before a consideration about the eventual next move can be made.
Also you must realize that a considerable amount of expertize/work force is required for an eventual fork.

About "server outage/shut down".
There is now a functional pardus-vim mirror.

You are living in the good country, I think Smiley
Here (in Russia) so called "Workshops" are just a way to steal money and to do nothing.
That's why I'm so pessimistic about workshop.
Do you remember about first Workshop in January? It was moved to the end of March.
But time is going.
So, we are waiting too, but we are creating a site - a platform.
Here, we have a famous song: "The last autumn".
I hope, it will never be true for us  Roll Eyes
25  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Fork on: February 16, 2012, 19:59:05 PM
quick, download everything before it disappears for good!  Grin
pardus-vim is a good working mirror Wink first reported here
Thank you for your job Smiley
But what we are going to do later?
26  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Fork on: February 09, 2012, 20:44:16 PM
We are going forward Smiley
Now I am going to translate pardus-linux.ru to be
completly international (not only forum).
3 developers (even one or two python-developers)
are waiting.
27  General / The Pub / Re: registration fails at pardus Russian forum-don't see anti bot clock on: February 02, 2012, 10:42:27 AM
The problem will be solved ASAP (I hope today).
28  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus Fork on: January 28, 2012, 17:16:28 PM
If the fork of Pardus will exist then I'm ready to continue.
The same is valid for me
And for me, of course. And I think for all russian team  Wink
May be, I have found a developer for Pardus, but waiting for news.
29  General / General topics / Re: Pardus End of Life on: January 27, 2012, 19:48:59 PM
So we need to join ..

There is a turkish communtiy (see the message above) ...
There is this worldforum communtiy ..
There is pardususer.de, the spanish and russian for packages (think they also need to join)

Maybe some of the old developers can help us?

What we need is kernel developers.
KDE developers.
Developers for the specific Pardus tools like pisi, yali, kaptan, etc
Think we got enough packagers, but new are allways welcome. (and for every piece of software are build files)
We need to join the website to one new Pardus website.

And if we can update the kernel and use the newest KDE we can create the 2012 soon, or not?

Can we create a list of people who like to fork Pardus, from all the communities on the world?
Your name, your skills, etc.

Ok .. maybe IRC is a good start ..

Yes, let's try to unite Smiley
I am at #pardus.

Fresh news:
(from mailing-list)

Hi, there will be a workshop in near term (nobody knows exactly when
though) with wide range of participation to discuss the faith of
Pardus. From what I understand, there is no end (yet) to corporate
editions probably due to the maintenance contracts they have.

There are also some users, developers and organizations like PLD
(pardus users association) who think of a fork. These are being
discussed in Turkish mailing lists and facebook as well.

We will need to be a bit more patient to have the conclusion.
