hello,

Could you tell me where did you find twinkle in the repositories?

I have pardus2009, contrib, user, pchilfe, test and devel activated (2009 each one) and I can't see it, either if I write twinkle or voip or whathever.

Did I miss something?

Thank you a lot.

Hi everybody,

Some days have passed, but I came back to say my wifi conneciton works now fine.
I discovered finally the problem was the router (even without key), it was an old linksys with wifi b (I bought it almost 8 years ago), and after reading some forums, I realize many users had troubleshoting with it on linux (that's why my brother had no problem).

I bought I the new Netgear WGR614L, and since this time I have nice connection without any dropping with WPA encryption.

Thank you all for your patience!

Ok, I made I new test in Kubuntu and my card was not connecting either.
So I don't know if I dreamt or something, anyway, I give up.

Does anyone know if I can buy a sd wifi card that will  be recognize without problem by Pardus?
I mean any brand that is well supported in Linux (maybe I should begin a new post) and kind of discrete.

Thank you all!

Thank you atolboo, I'm glad it works for you.
As I said, I understand it SHOULD work normally.

My card detects the networks, but that's what the log says when is trying to connect:

[  778.542885] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
and
wlan0: broadcasting for a lease (it stays very long on this one).

Finally it gets time out and Network Manager says "Could not acquire an adress".
Maybe I am missing something, but as I said, the same hardware got connected in kubuntu without problem.
Any idea? Thanks.

Hi everybody,

First of all I wanted to thank all people behind Pardus, the job done is amazing. Like many of us I have been impressed by this distribution, and I happy to have switched.

I am using a MSI WIND U100 and everything is working, but wireless. I know this issue is old (I had to use special patch when I was using Ubuntu 8.10), but after searching help and reading a lot messages, I realize this problem should not appear with the new kernel (the one used in Pardus 2009).

Actually, before installing Pardus I tried Kubuntu 9.04 where wireless was perfectly working (new kernel I suppose). My MSI WIND is one of the old (first) generation, so the chip uses is the RTL8187SE. Also, it can scan for networks, but cannot connect, even with other connections than mine that are not protected, so it's not the router I suppose.

Is this normal? Anybody's help?
Thank you.
