I have always used wine for Spotify (the only thing I do use wine for). Apart from a warning that I appear to be using an unsupported platform, it seems to work just fine.

Hi from Northamptonshire, I've been using Pardus for two years now. Did try one or two others in the early days, but kept coming back. I haven't felt the need to experiment with different distros for a fair while now.

Hi, I'm from England too. I've been using Pardus for a couple of years with very few problems. I've been running fluxbox over KDE for the past few months as I like the minimalist feel of it, also I feel more inclined to use the command line, which is good for keeping my brain active.

Assistance / Configuring Pardus / XFCE problem
|
on: August 03, 2011, 21:12:56 PM

I thought I'd try XFCE having used fluxbox for a while now, always keen to try something different. I've installed everything XFCE related from pisi and it is mostly working well. The problem that I am having though is that I cannot see the display settings. When I try to access them through the menus I am presented with the following: Unable to start the XFCE display settings - The video driver does not support video outputs. My graphics card is GEForce 7050/nForce 610i. nVidia drivers are all up to date. So far I've been unable to find an answer on XFCE forums. Any ideas would be most welcome.

Before bed last night I did "sudo pisi up" as there were 73 updates reported. This morning I find firefox will not work. The message I am getting is "Cannot find mozilla runtime directory. Exiting." I haven't so far found anything else that won't function properly.

I have been using Chromium, but recently started favouring Chrome. There is not much difference, but a recent update to Chromium removed the option to X out of the browser if you have multiple tabs open, meaning it is now necessary to use "Exit" from the menu.

No. Still using 32bit Linux. The change of plugin hasn't made any noticeable difference

Google-chrome has a default plugin libgcflashplayer.so. I have now added a plugins folder and copied libflashplayer.so into it. I have disabled the default plugin and am now running Chrome with the new addition. I shall check over the next few days whether there is any improvement.
