Thanks...a little modification and I got it loaded. Unfortunately, though the drivers are shown on the website as being there, Package Manager still shows the 11.3 video drivers.

OK perhaps this is  a dumb question, but I see the list of updated files for Pardus  here:

But I see no way of downloading them.  Any answers? Specifically, the ATI 11.8 drivers. The repositories only have 11.3. Since I have am A6-3400 with 6720g ideo I need the latest drivers to function properly

I at least have the ATI driver working sopmewhat, with the unsupported hardware watermark...yesterday I was getting flashing blck dashes at the top pf the screen..today it seems to be working fine.  Not sure which video the driver is accessing, since I have the 6720g2 hybrid crossfire as well.

So, at least that's something....

I will install on a different PC to see if the problem is specific to the computer.

Hopefully today or tomorrow I will know. I will also install a different Linux to determine if it might be a problem with the computer....

Thanks James, that is similar to what I am experiencing.  Also, when logging in the screen doesn't reflect what I have typed for several seconds.

I think I will try to install it on a different machine to see if the same issue occurs on that system.  I've also downloaded the latest nightly build again and may try installing that.

I have used Pardus off and on for about 18 months. Generally, I think it is one of the better KDE based Linux variants.  However, I am testing the 2011 beta and have tried both the Beta 2 version and the 20101212 nightly build. It installs ok, BUT here is where I seem to nitice some kind of issue.  When typing in the Admin/Root password or just about anytime authentication is required, there is a substantial delay before the screen actually reflects it. In the case of root, by the time the screen has entered what I typed authentication has timed out. So, I cannot add new software, for example.

Has anyone else noticed this issue?
