1  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Domain name Pardusworld.com is available for you on: June 05, 2012, 22:08:39 PM
Much better domain than what is now.
I never type the domain myself. I set my browser in such a way that it automatically goes to the site when I open the browser, So all i have to do is just change the site name in the settings. I believe it's the same for most old users out there so changing the site name wouldn't cause much inconvenience I think. If there is a bookmark, updating it would do.
Easier domain name would mean better accessibility to new users. So I support the move.

3  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: share internet over wifi on: May 15, 2012, 03:41:50 AM
I actually only wanted to know how to make my laptop as a software internet router for other laptops. I thought changing wifi mode to ad-hoc would help. However, i have no idea how to make a software router out of my laptop. Can you please help me in this regard.

5  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / share internet over wifi on: May 13, 2012, 06:13:29 AM
Hi,
I want to share my wired internet connection with other systems in my home over wifi
How do i do it?
changing the wifi mode to ad-hoc doesn't work.
Code:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 mode Ad-Hoc
I'm getting this:
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported.

I was able to do it in windows using http://www.connectify.me/ . So i know it's possible.
Is there any such software for linux? I'm not able to find any in repositories.

actually, I wanted to install "google voice and video chat" software. For which you, Atolboo, had guided me how to do that.
At that time i added the pardus-devel repository and downloaded the devel packages.
I disabled the pardus-devel repo after that.
This was where you had helped me install "google voice and video chat" software. (thanks again for that):
http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index.php?topic=4214.0
So now i have the latest devel packages and i'm upgrading to the normal packages i think.
Or should i go ahead and install the newer packages and see if there would be any problem.
If I can revert back, I have no problem in ignoring the conflict.

8  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Updating libpng12-devel on: February 20, 2012, 07:10:44 AM
Hi,
I was updating my system and I got this:

The following packages will be upgraded:
google-chrome  libbsd  libpng12  libpng12-devel
Total size of package(s): 35.93 MB
There are extra packages due to dependencies.
Do you want to continue? (yes/no)y
The following packages have conflicts:
[libpng12-devel conflicts with: libpng-devel ]

Remove the following conflicting packages? (yes/no)

The libpng12-devel package was downloaded from the devel repo for google voice and video chat. So I'll be still needing it. But I am wondering whether the libpng-devel is needed for any other program which would stop working once I upgrade the system. What should I do? Is there any way for me to know which files are dependent on the libpng-devel library?

Thanks atolboo, It's working. The actual problem was that when i searched for google+ hangouts in google, only the plugin download link page was shown.
When i clicked the hangout button in google +, it worked nice.

Sorry, This is the page that shows up.
http://www.google.com/tools/dlpage/res/talkvideo/hangouts/
If you had installed the plugin, it might show you the hangout homepage.
So this is the screen shot of what i see:

Can we chat about this? It's faster and we can post the whole conversation afterwards.

Ok, executed till step 9.
But chrome doesn't detect plugin?
Went to google+ Hangout and it shows "install plugin" page.
