1  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: ATI Video Drivers [Radeon Sapphire 1650 PRO] Pardus 2011 on: March 13, 2011, 01:13:42 AM
Ok, i have found the answer.

Downloading other versions of Pardus and reinstalling it, was nothing else but waste of time. Sure, ATI drivers are installed, but still i can't configure it (like in Pardus 2009.2 for instance). I have simply modify main fonts and disable some effects (anti-aliasing, fonts dpi). Now i can work, read, ... and my eyes won't burn x).

Thanks for all replies Smiley

Confuse-mode is on.

Version 2007, 2008.2 or 2009.2. 2007 is too old, i understand that. But what with 2008.2 and 2009.2? - Can anybody confirm that ATI card (title) will work on that Pardus? I have here one last cd - i must make my mind on that x).

Quite so. I've checked that before (unistall/install default driver) and the result was te same: failure. Is there a possibility, that this version of Pardus is troublemaker? I have downloaded version 2007, if this problem cannot be solved.

PS. ATI may be an "enemy of my freedom", but in this case i choose quality over legal details. In this situation i just can't work - and for webmaster this is troublesome.

Yeah, it's all ok - it was default since system installation. Pardus is running on driver developed by open source community (X.org R300 project - gallium 0.4 on RV530 - 2.1 Mesa 7.9.1). That driver is working, but as i said quality isn't perfect.

I've already check both:
- both xorg-video-radeon and xorg-video are installed. Wiki article is obsolete, drivers won't work on version 2011. I have also gather few ATI packeges, but all of them are working on other linux distributions.

Hello.

First post and a problem for a start - sorry about that, but the matter really annoys me.
I have here graphic card Radeon Sapphire 1650 PRO and default driver for it (X.org R300 project - gallium 0.4 on RV530 - 2.1 Mesa 7.9.1). It's working - i can't deny that, but my eyes burns. In other words driver is working, but the quality isn't as good as it should. I remember from my last OS (Windows XP) that this problem can be solved, simply by installing ATI drivers. Well, i've searched many places and learn nothing - i couldn't find anything that would match Pardus 2011. The main question here: is there ATI video driver that matches with this version of Pardus?

Best Regards, Oneit..
