Are it any advantage for Intel there or are they almost the same?
Sorry, I can not help you there.

AMD or Intel?
I have always used AMD because it gives you more processing power for your money here in the US.

So I guess the future for OpenOffice is not so good now.
The articles I have read pretty much say that it is for all practical purposes dead.

Why did Turkey not show up on that list?

What would the numbers look like if all the bootleg and pirate windoze units were eliminated?

It was not this way for myself
That is the way it was for me.  If the reviews had not been so good, I would not have continued the process.  The only explanation I could come up with was that spam had been a problem.

History does have a way of repeating itself over and over again.

I like the Mandriva control center.
The PCLinuxOS one is the same or very similiar.

What is GRUB 1
It is a slang term for the old grub and is also written as grub(1) in order to distinguish it from grub2.

Thanks, James T.  That grub1/ext4 thing did not come up in anything I saw.

Let me rephrase the question a little  -- Why are some distros still using ext3 when ext4 is mature and offers some advantages.  The increased number and size of files does not factor into the average user's requirements.  It must be something else.
