Wow thanks The fixed version off acerhk (not the GUI version) Anglo, worked for me I compiled it and used the following commando's to get it work: sudo modprobe acerhk sudo echo 1 > /proc/driver/acerhk/wirelessled Now, I finally got the wirless working on this old machine even when we bought this machine the wifi didn't work in windows so we bought a wifi usb-stick, wich worked, but was very slow... I always knew that there was a wifi adapter in this laptop which had to be turned on by a hardware switch :p and now finally it works, and im not tied to a Lan cable anymore Thanks! The only thing is, that i have to run these commandos every time at start-up I know there is a file, where you can put these commandos, so they would be executed at start up.. Does somebody knows how to do it? Greets, Tristan

Okay atolboo thanks for reply, I forgot to mention that I've already read that I installed kernel-module-headers and in the make file I modified this rule: KERNELSRC?=/lib/modules/`uname -r`/build to: KERNELSRC?=/lib/modules/2.6.35.13/build Greets, Tristan

Thanks for Reply Anglo, I took a look at xmodmap, but I don't think thats what i was looking for. But thats my fault because I didn't explain my problem so well So my problem is: I have this Medion md 97600 Laptop, which has wireless disabled by default. There is a button (which is not a part of the keyboard) where you can enable your Wlan. On a few forums Ive read that some people (with the same laptop) say, that you have to install acerhk, to make enabling of wlan possible. Now the only problem i have is, when i do 'make', nothing happens, even no output in the terminal And I don't know what the problem is, because i compiled a few programs in Pardus before without having this problem Greets, Tristan

Assistance / News & Announcements / Pardus Project news

Dear Pardus users, As you know, Pardus is being developed by the Scientific & Technological Research Council of Turkey. The Council has been restructuring for more than three months. This process affected all the projects developed by the Council, including Pardus Project. To be honest, the restructuring period brought a lot of changes to Pardus project, which we actually don't know but we see its affects. A remarkable number of developers had left the project, the working wheels of the project are about to stop etc. We actually do not have a satisfactory official information. There is limited information from the project 1- Ozan Çağlayan's mail, which you may also read in DistroWatch's weekly. Also ote that, Ozan Çağlayan resigned at the beginning of the new year due to his unwanted designation to another project in Ankara 2-Nihan Katipoğlu's blog in the Official Community Coordinator's Blog: Nihan wrote: "The ongoing restructrurring process has not finished yet. As the process is in operation we postpointed the release of the Corporate 2.1 version. Please note that the words "Pardus Project is closing etc" are just rumours. The project is not closing, but changing and transforming. We will see the changes together. As the decisions taken we will write them and share with you." 3- Erkan Tekman's Farewell Letter, summarily the project is not ending however, it is somehow transforming. 4-An officer's declaration from the Council that Pardus is not closing. 5-A reply to a question asked under the Law of Right Of Information Acquirement from the Council. Which states that the project is in operation for the moment. Those were the official/semi-official intel which we can share with you at the moment. As you know there are lots of rumours around. And we know that you really wonder what's going around. Please be patient, at the moment we do not like to share the rumours with you, which will make you sad, even if they are not true. We will share the serious info, which are confirmed, and we will share with you the official announcements which are made in Turkish. We, Turkish speaking Pardus community would like you to be a part of this. So we will post any remarkable intel in a short brief to www.pardusworld.com. We also opened a twitter account https://twitter.com/PardusWorld which you may follow. Best regards, see http://www.ozgurlukicin.com/haber/pardusun-durumu-hakkinda/

Assistance / Software / Run .JAR files
|
on: October 08, 2011, 10:52:32 AM

|
hey,
If i want to run a .jar file and i click on this .jar file, Ark always extracts it. So to run it, I have to "cd" to the folder of the .jar file and do "java -jar file.jar" to run it. Is there a possibility to run .jar files without using the terminal? that would be a lot faster for me!

Assistance / Software / Re: replacement for itunes (ipod)

true and i've heard that, for example, if me and my girlfriend would have an iPod (this is never gonna happen though :p). So my iPod would be loaded with all my rock music that is stored on my PC(iTunes). So on one day or another, i'm gonna visit her with my iPod in my pocket. Her PC(also iTunes) would be loaded fully with R&B. Of course I want to listen to her music to, so I connect my iPod to her PC, with the intention to just copy ONE song from her iTunes collection, to my iPod. But what happens instead, is that all my Rock music gets 'overwritten' by all her R&B songs. this happens because, she syncs her library of R&B songs on my IPod, and because, my Rock music isn't there in her library, it gets removed from my iPod I don't know if its entirely true, I just heard this story from a friend Greetings

Hey, I don't have an Ipod, but I thik you really want to check out Songbird. I've heard that it has an addon ( i don't know if its installed by standard), that can sync your music to your Ipod. Also this addon was needed when you used songbird V1.1. on this moment we've reached songbird v 1.9 so maby this addon isn't necessary anymore. V1.8 is aviable in pisi, so maybe you can give this a try Greetings, Tristan

hey, Does anybody know a good C (NOT c++) IDE. where i can DEBUG and compile c-source files. I've already tried monodevelop but it wouldn't DEBUG C or C ++ projects. Janta looks like a very good program, but its not available for pardus. Does anybody have any suggestions? please let me know Greetings, Tristan
