Have there been any reports on gyachi not releasing yahoo upon closure? If I start up another I.M. I get the message that "you have signed on from another location". This complicates things...........
Edit : Nvrm, it seems to be a inconsistent thing , more likely to be a procedural thing I'm missing

I would like to make a formal request that the Pardus World Forum have a faq outlining the resources available to the general pardus users. Obvious now , but I just tripped over the Pardus Linux .nl twitter feed by accident. Now I am wondering what else I may have missed ( this is you chance guys ,to point out all the things I missed ,)

One of the plugins I use with firefox is one called "IM Translator". Lately when I try to use i I get this message................." Googleâ„¢ decided to limit the FREE access to its translation server for third-party translation websites and applications. However we have been able to manage this situation, but the number of translations per minute is limited.
We can offer you the alternative translators ". They give two alternatives, one of which is Microsoft The other ( I forget who ) seemed to work ok, but this is annoying.

I keep at hand various "live cd's" for different purposes, some you have no doubt heard of , like clonezilla , or knoppix , or nero's cd burning disks. Recently I tripped over a site that is a treasure trove of live cd's for various Distro's , and those of a theme or specific purpose, some built for businesses , some for diagnostics, or music , or medicine, and some for several different operating systems . http://www.livecdlist.com/Enjoy Anglophony

I have no particular taste in music , pretty much all of it is listenable, and this topic is rich in soon to be played / explored stuff . Not listening to anything atm , but I loaded some shakira (in spainish ) , and andrea bocelli to the hard drive ( for testing purposes ),and started the morning listening to Jon Schmidt 's new wave classical styled piano music this morning" ,and as I write this I 'm thinking of Corvus Corax - a group of mediaeaval music revivalists. This is a fun topic. Snce Lisa Marie mentioned Peanuts , :something by Jon Schmidt ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyPDQpel8bI

G'day atilboo
The only thing I'm offering is to report on the old style conole apps, and mostly the the easy to compile stuff at that .You guys have enough on your hands herding penguins now so I prefer to not shake the boat( pardon the mixed metaphors pls ). I sometimes think people forget there was a (computer ) life before gui's. But since I'm mostly thinking of software tools , That is likeliest to be what I talk about.
edit : this may give you a better idea :http://kmandla.wordpress.com/software/

Sometimes I do my "thing " in console mode (level 2 or 3 ) I find there are somethings I would like to have, would there be any interest in my reporting things of that nature that work ?

My thoughts is that this is only another layer of security, which is a process , NOT a cure. There are other o/s's involved other than microsoft ,if only legacy o/s's, so that will need to be addressed as well.
Off the top of my head , the thought I have is that if they can get access to your computer , then they own it, period. For example , they could re-flash the bios , with some sort of hacked bios, , or they could simply image your hard drive , and take all the time they need elsewhere ( a Ipod perhaps, or maybe a iphone sending the image to a remote storage ). And I am sure that Win#8 will be hacked soon enough that will run on anyones computer ( hardware architecture permitting ).
Governments will love it, control freaks will love it,but anyone ELSE who is using using a computer will be tempted to leave it running full time, ,,, imagine this scene ,,,,,,,,the approved o/s boot , then the supervisor boot password , the operators password, then maybe a disk encryption password , and file encryption password. Most security failures are through someones laziness, or through theft.
