Not disagreeing with you Daves , I just raised these points for consideration.
" How many of us have an x86_64? Nowadays just who do trashware has a machine older than i686... "
Well , this month I have a ppc mac , a netbook , 32bit ibm , a old dell 386, and a couple of others that I'll be fixing...and linux makes all this work

Hi guys, nice topic
I think we need to decide first on WHAT we will support, then decide on the repos to support it with, e.g. old machines like 386's ( which chakra is dropping along with i686 ), if so , then we will want the older repo's like pardus 2008 if not, we just go with the newer ones.
I see a shared repo of pardus and anka as a good idea , it would allow us to go forward with anka , and provide support for olde machines as well.
Adding a D.E. is only a problem in the building , and perhaps on its integration , after that ,only in its configuration.
As far as Solus I see that as not a bad idea, but... Ikey used scripts to copy debian , and converted them to a pisi format ( with all the fixes and patches that HE thought were proper ). I believe the scripts are/will be available for as gnu software. We might , after all , want to make our own corrections patches , etc and scripts are editable.

Pardus Anka / News & Announcements / Re: Back to Pardus (again :) )

Now i have a partition dedicated to solusos, because it will bring pisi, however pardus is the best distro linux i ever tried. I hope anka will be released soon.
My suggestion Daves, is wait until there is a better installer for SolusOs , ( it should be soon ), I had difficulties with the previous/current installer ( no options preboot ). Or install SolusOs first then re install Pardus ( which has LOTS of pre-boot options ). But the SolusOs booting procedure is under heavy re developement at the moment, FYI

Pardus Anka / News & Announcements / Re: is going on?

Hey Daves! You should talk to the guys doing the work. Best way to do that is to go on irc to #anka-develop on freenode.net. If you have no irc application ( like konversation, or xchat or others ), then use your browser of choice and go to : http://webchat.freenode.net/Use whatever nickname you want on the first entry, #anka-develop in the "channels" area. You can skip the "Auth to services: " , it's not needed , then answer the "recaptcha " correctly and you will be in the room. They may not respond at once , so be patient with them , they have work and lives too
