Thanks Bahri16,
I've got it working now. Like you said I needed the correct firmware, managed to find it with help of google. Your suggestion of kaffeine was also a good one, it works better then VLC.

........ how can I install the Linux drivers (debian?) that I have downloaded from their site?
Can you supply a link to this ^^^ site No direct link because they use javascript to download the files. Asus.com and then you go to Download choose Select Product "Multimedia" Select Series "TV-Tuner" Select Models "My Cinema-U3100Mini/DVBT Then search and choose Linux as OS Then VGA and the driver I downloaded was: ------------------------------------------------------------- Version 1.2 Description USB linux driver for U3000 Mini DVBT and U3100 Mini DVBT Only support ASUS U3000 Mini DVBT /U3100 Mini DVBT -------------------------------------------------------------- That was the manual that came with the stick. I tried to install the driver as was in the manual. This was what happened: R60-FV EeePC-TVDrv-U3000-1.2 # ./install_u3000 ./install_u3000: line 3: dpkg: command not found

Hi Michiel and Andreas,
It tried those files. I had to activate the Cups web interface, because the Pardus printer installer didn't give me any information, this way I could see that Cups couldn't find the printer. The printer has it's own network connection through WIFI.
I googled around a bit and found out that Canon uses a proprietary driver to control the printer. There is a opensource version of this BNJP driver on SourceForge and there is also a Linux driver from Canon. I had a look at the SourceForge version and it looks like it needs to be compiled. For the Canon driver I could find instructions how to install it under Ubuntu and Suse, but not for Pardus. I know to little about Linux to know what method to choose.
Hope someone can help me.
Thanks, Frank

Assistance / Installing Pardus / Re: Install on logical partition

Ok, you had 3 primary partitions + 1 extended partition. That's the maximum allowed number. And inside the extended partition there are the 2 logical partitions.
Yes, but also 30GB free space, so that's why I think the installation program should have offered to make a logical partition for Pardus.

I made the partition I needed with a disk utility
Which disk utility? DFsee I think it's a mistake in the installation program that you get the error message that there are to many primary partitions
This means you had 4 primary partitions. And in this case you can only change a primary partition into an extended partition. No, I had three primary partitions (windows takes up two and one for another OS) and two logical partitions with data like photos, MP3 files and other stuff. Ok, I'll try.

Hallo Antoon, I'm keeping you busy. Yes, it's possible. I found out how to do it. I made the partition I needed with a disk utility and then restarted the install program. I assigned the logical partition I made as Pardus system partition and the install program was happy. While I'm typing this Pardus is being installed on my other computer. I think it's a mistake in the installation program that you get the error message that there are to many primary partitions, when you choose the install option "No, I'll partion my disk manually", instead of being offered to make a logical partition. Hi Andreas, sudo pisi up
Hello Fox, it was one mistake from me, sorry. pisi up (as root) No, I was unclear. Sorry. The command sudo pisi up did work, but I meant that there was no effect. There were no packets that needed an update.

Is this also needed to get a Canon Pixma MP620 working? I tried to use the Canon Pixma MP-600 files from the Pardus WIKI, I think I can use these to. Couldn't download the files: Not Found The requested URL /~ozan/dist/binaries/2009/cnijfilter-common-mp600-3.00-1.pisi was not found on this server.

Assistance / Installing Pardus / Install on logical partition

Hello, is it possible to install Pardus on a logical partition? I've enough disk space, but no more primary partitions. I get an error message that there are to many primary partitions when I try to install it. Can't find anything in the installation guide about it, but I must admit that it is not a normal situation.
