Sabayon Linux: Uses debian testing and how stable is that.
Sabayon doesn't use the debian testing packages but uses its own packages, that are builded from the gentoo repo or builded from scratch. Sabayon has its own package manager (entropy) that use binary packages and has portage too.

Now i do a little advertising for Italian products:
try Sabayon Linux!
It's a gentoo-based rolling release distro with a compiled packages (so not only portage for us)

Pclinuxos until anka release...  Tongue
20  General / Tips and tricks / Re: Replacement for Pardus: Mageia on: September 16, 2012, 16:38:00 PM
I don't want start a flame-war. I've only reported my experience with the mageia team and with pclinuxos one.
This weeks i'm trying to find the replace for pardus in case anka will not be released but i have not found.
The few distro that can be a choice are pclinuxos, chakra or opensuse (maybe).
Nothing is like pardus.

I disagree with .deb packages or a debian-based distro because pardus/anka has his own personality and we have choose it, not the debian one. This is my thought.

In the meanings that anka needs to be a solus/debian-based?
23  General / Tips and tricks / Re: Replacement for Pardus: Mageia on: September 16, 2012, 10:54:50 AM
about mageia:
- mind-closed team
- it is only an updated mandriva 2010.2 with no significant added value (no beautiful artwork, no rolling release, ecc...)
- the international forum is in the hands of 3 or 4 people, and if not think as their most often they respond poorly

about pclinuxos:
- small team but they love what they do, and do so with the few resources available
- more added value to mandriva instead of mageia (not beautiful artwork but it's rolling relase, they working hard on their packages)
- the forum is very friendly (texstar, the boss, is a true companion)

Everything but not mageia, please. Pclinuxos is better than mageia!

I look forward to gaining and using ideas from both of them, "solus " has some nice thinking...
That the spirit!

I agree , although "unwise " would be a better word
Yes, you are right.

for what I have read the solusos team has a strong desire to colaborare with the anka project, so I think that just a stupid would refuse a collaboration. unity is strength.
