sakasa Welcome to the forum. I have a request; Are you able to create icons in the Tango icon style? http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Desktop_ProjectIf so and if you have the time, would it be possible to make a tango version of the pardus logo? Or just the pardus cat outline? If you are able to it would be much appreciated I tried myself, but I am not an artist so I did not achieve anything Thank you very much for have taken your time to welcome others. You asked Are you able to create icons in the Tango icon style? I have never really try it. but because you asked for it I will give it a try. Allow me a few weeks before I start to make icons when I will probably hav more time. I think Linuzoid must know more about Icons than me I will ask him. Here is what I can do right now: Splashes and wallpapers. But you have give me a push and a thought for me to also try icons but I'm always very busy in trying to keep everyone happy also. Please give me sometime... Thank you again. Best Wishes to you! Thanks dudem I look forward to seeing your artwork

Assistance / Hardware / Re: Question on what to do when I upgrade RAM and install new video card

I only have 512MB I want to upgrade it soon.
I intend to recompile openoffice.org 3.0 when it goes stable and add gtk support and remove kde support so that it fits in with my system using gtk.
I will need more ram as the source for openoffice 3.0 is over 400mb, so its going to take a long time to build haha. More ram should speed things up a lot.

The title says it all. If you are listening to music at the moment, then what is it?
I am currently listening to Idobi Radio and the song playing is 'Snakes on a plane' by 'Cobra Starship'. It is a very cheesy song, as you would expect for a song made to go along with a film.

If I want to keep tasma and the other Pardus specific utilities e.g.g network-manager I would only need to keep kdelibs and kdeutils. I can remove kdebase, but it requires building policykit-gnome and gdm. Both are in playground repository, but they do not build at the moment

Idont know if he still does. My subscription ran out about 8 months ago and I never renewed.
The magazine was ok. I bought it for the reviews and guides. It has except tutorials and guides. They have things like how to set up a media centre. How to program a simply pyhton game, then they run it over a few editions.
However it is still over priced though, but what computer magazine isnt now haha.

Yes indeed they are.
Amarok etc work fine. Although they use the kde theme you are currently using. To get around this I use qtcurve theme. And try to customize theme so that it resembles my gtk theme. For example I am using clearlooks gtk theme, so I modifythe qtcurve theme to looks similar and ajust the kde colours accordingly so they match gtk.
The downside with xfce on Pardus is that openoffice is built without gtk support, this means that openoffice takes on your kde colour scheme etc.
Openoffice is the only application I use that pulls the kde theme. I only temporarily use package-manager and network-applet.
On a side note a little fiddling is needed in order to enable package-manager etc to work under xfce. But is is as simple as having a command run when you log into xfce. You simply add it via thr xfce autostart gui.
I do not se xfce for speed, I use it for visual appearance. Gtk seems much nicer looking than Qt.

I have an Asus Eee 701 and Lenovo 300 C200.
2008 works fantastic on Eee. It works well on lenovo, however I cannot use cpufreq as it causes the machine to lock up (for a couple of secconds). SO I have to keep it on performance.
For me it does not mater as the lenovo stays at home in my room, so it is always next to a plug socket.
I have no desktop machine.
