is cpufreq enabled?

Sometimes for whatever reason pardus cannot detect if your cpu supports cpufreq or what speeds it supports.  It might simply be stuck on powersave or ondemand mode.
32  General / General topics / Re: How did you hear about Pardus? on: October 31, 2008, 18:44:20 PM
I don't actually remember.  When I had my subscription to Linux format they had a monthly section from the guy who runs distrowatch.  I am pretty sure I read about it there.

I can remember everything else though like my first package my first time in #pardus-devel haha.

I learn to say hello everyone through IRC haha.

Rather than a direct translation, what about using the same template etc, same sections etc and just creating our own content.

I mean translating it will be a big undertaking, surely writing from scratch would be easier?

I dont know.

If you buy a new harddrive, consider using encfs.

I find this to be the best method of encrypting directories on drives.

to mix the screen after grub;

 edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and change all vga=791 to vga=785

works on my eee

I need to get active more on the forum.  I also need to finish moving my packages over to 2008 haha.
38  General / General topics / Re: Can anybody help me building a pisi package ? on: August 04, 2008, 23:37:57 PM
I get an error when it gets past make install and phtsically tries to build the pisi file.  I think a file may need to be patched.

Consider posting the problem to pardus-devel mailing list.

last few lines of the build including the error;

could you post the actions.py and pspec.xml here and perhpas someone from the forum can take a look and possibly identify the problem.

Neither.  I have not fixed the issue.  I did not know how to and was too lazy to both haha.

I was hoping you may figure it our Cheesy

indeed.  As far as I know it is something to do with the intel sound stuff.

If your Eee PC does not entirely shutdown, add the following line to /etc/init.d/halt (I put right after the "Saving mixer setting" stuff):

su -
gedit /etc/init.d/halt

add this line just before the # Save random seed block

#Shutdown eeepc fix
modprobe -r snd-hda-intel && echo "snd-hda-intel module removed!"

That fixes the error; but I still get:
Bootsplash ... no good signature found
How can we make the Bootsplash work?

And, could the following packages also be added to the repository:

Would be great!!  Grin

which packages in particular?  Madqifi included in Pardus works well on the eee.  Lucview is pointless, wxcam is far btter with more features.  The only thing I cna think of would be the custom asus eee acpi.

to fix the grub issue;

 edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and change all vga=791 to vga=785
