The American who said the above, has a video about half an hour long, generally on Windows and Linux comparison, and even in such a short time, he speaks about Pardus for several minutes, recommending Pardus as maybe the best Linux distro among hudreds of others. He himself uses two distros, and Pardus is one of them. He even uses Pardus on his TV.
There are lots of wonderful comments especially regarding "Kaptan" and "Pisi".

To be frank, I felt proud and ashamed at the same time, I felt a great burden of responsibility. I was wrong to think of Pardus as just a "Turkish" distro. Now, I see that we have a great responsibility towards the whole world.
Therefore, I now agree that foreign language issues must be addressed urgently.
On the other hand, our foreign friends should allow us some time:
- After TUBITAK neglected Pardus, it is now understood that only the Pardus-Linux Org (ANKA) group here, has taken and carried the flag properly. This is almost unprecedented, a big entrepreneurship and volunteerism. Naturally, there are problems as to resources and personnel. This is an interim, restructuring phase. It is only normal that a large and experienced group of translators will take some time to be re-established.
-Everything is about cost-benefit analysis. Distribution of human resources must be rational. Currently, the volunteers most urgently needed are the programmers, developers. It is not rational to force them to spend their valuable time on translation work.
-Those who are not programmers, developers, should focus and devote their time to testing and reporting feedbacks. Those who cannot even do that (like myself ) can help with the translation work. Earlier, I had promised to make translations and I sometimes do it in this Facebook group, yesterday I made a translation at the PLO forum. I will continue to help out with the translations.
Our heavily wounden patient has just undergone surgery. It is unfair to expect him to get up immediately and start running. First, let him start walking, then he will hopefully run again

Does anybody knows who is the operator of this forum? We need to update the forum so there can be new users, etc. And if the operator has no time for it anymore, can we take it over then?

Maybe with a dailup user it takes a little time. I did not have any problem with the repo ..
But before you upgrade with the anka repo remove these packages:

- module-virtualbox-guest
- module-virtualbox-guest-userspace
- virtualbox-guest-utils

After that upgrade should go easy, but it always depend on your network speed
Oh, and the best way is upgrade on console

Same here .. i installed it on my Macbook Pro, and it is fast and stable.

But if your not a little technical, or if things like turn of a repo not say anything
to you, it is maybe wisher not to use it and wait a little longer.

Only thing i was expecting is that my backlight of the keyboard should work
because of the new kernel. With other distros and the 3.2.x kernel it works out
of the box.

But for the rest it is really awesome and it rocks ...

Yoyo, what theme do you use, and where did you get that background from?

It is only for testing, you can call it Alpha fase.
So be carefull, not ready for not technical users yet.

- The 32 bit version is coming soon
- You must add the repo link into pisi packagemanager, and then turn of all the other repos.
- Yes clean Pardus 2011.2 install, then add this repo and upgrade

But, it is only for testers and packagers. So have patience.

Upgrade the pardus test machine on work, and .......

RUNNING Pardus Anka aka Pardus 2012 test!!

It runs very well, only things i notice till now:

* Broadcom WL card not visible after boot, sudo modprobe wl does the trick, but need to find out how it autoboot.
The 2011.2 solution for this not works anymore, at the line wl at the file /etc/modules.autload.d/kernel-2.6. Maybe anybody
here got a solution?

* konsole is not installed, so need to pisi it.

But for the rest, it Pardus rocks!

I also look around in de facebook group. There is now a repo for testing. The next weeks they will bug-fix
things, and after that there will be a new Open Parus.

But the future looks good
