301  General / General topics / Re: Pardus End of Life on: January 18, 2012, 10:27:39 AM
I not think Pardus has this kind of problems. That is why Pardus is so special. It is not commercial or has commercial intentions.
Pardus is develop by the Turkish government. The problem right now is that some people in the government probably not
see the value of Pardus. If they see it they never reorganize the project. Every little development they do in Pardus will be
payed back.
If they stop the Pardus development they need to buy Windows or OSX license, and also license of other software.
And then you talk about millions of license every year again (and millions of Euro's every year that only will be good for a few
companies and people who work at those companies). So what is cheaper and has more value in the end?
And if they play is wise there should be more commercial about Pardus, because it is not only Turkey who can use the value
of Pardus, but every country on this planet can use it. And that all because of the Turkey people. What more good news you
want as a country?
302  General / Wish list / Updates packages on: January 18, 2012, 10:17:10 AM
They are not official  packages, but for the users who like to use updates software of Firefox, etc.
Look here:

http://birgo.mynet.com/pardus-guncel-paketler

For the use of Firefox and Chromium u also need to download and install the package nss-3.13.1.

So download the pisi package:

And from the terminal:
sudo pisi it packagename.pisi

I think the same way as John A.
I also distrohop so much, also did the last week again (Fedora, Ubuntu, Mint, OpenSuse, etc),
but there is just only "everything-work-out-of-the-box' distro, and that is Pardus.
And not only that, it is special. Based on itself (so no Debian, etc) and development by a
government (what every other government in the world should copy) so no commercial behind it.

But there is just one way to stop the rumors. Give an official message, even it is short. Just a message
with the plans (and they already got them in 3 months, if not, then they never will get them).
And if, in the bad scenario, they stop with the Pardus project, give it to some other government in this
world who is interest in it and like to take over the development.

305  International Pardus Users / Dutch / Re: 802.11b/g/n WLAN drivers on: January 16, 2012, 10:19:32 AM

306  International Pardus Users / Dutch / Re: 802.11b/g/n WLAN drivers on: January 14, 2012, 13:02:33 PM
Hoi ...

Zo te zien heb je een Atheros WLAN device en geen Broadcom WLAN.

Je kan dit eens proberen in een konsole

sudo rmmod ath9k
sudo modprobe ath9k

Kijken of je device dan wel wordt gezien.
307  General / The Pub / Re: How many Pardus users? on: January 11, 2012, 08:37:11 AM
OK ... if i read all this then there must be a way to get more information.

If i am right then Anglo can read Turkish, so maybe he can just mail someone or
all members of the Pardus team?

Oh .. and is nobody from the Parus team read this Forum? There must be someone
of the team who read this forum, and just give a little bit more information. Smiley

And an other question: if the worst scenario is coming out, they will stop with Pardus, who
of this forum will continue using Pardus? In other words, who will help to keep the Pardus alive?

So let 2012 be the year of keep the Pardus alive.
308  General / The Pub / Re: How many Pardus users? on: January 10, 2012, 19:23:12 PM
I know that there are rumours but ...

- Why are a remarkable number of developers left the project?
- Why are the working wheels are about to stop?

We must wait and see hwo Pardus come out of this, but i not believe it comes out
as it was before. You not drop developers if you got big plans with something.

So maybe it just will be a corporate version and the rest will be given to the community.

The best way is just to give information form the official way. Every little bit of information
will be enough.

Why have we need to wait that long? If they already restructure for m ore then 3 months?

And spam on your official mailing list? That are not very good signs.

I hope they make a good descision, because Pardus is a very special kind of distro.
309  General / The Pub / How many Pardus users? on: January 10, 2012, 16:20:31 PM
I wonder how many people using Pardus worldwide?

Quote
valt mij regelmatig op dat er zomaar 40 bezoekers zijn in het Worldforum

It says that there are around 40 visitors on the Worldforum daily.

The dutch forum has 189 members
This forum has 672 members

And how do we get more members?
310  General / Wish list / Re: minitube 1.7 on: January 10, 2012, 16:14:14 PM
OK .. 99% rolling Smiley and 1% the update manager or
1% rolling and 99% the update manager Smiley
311  General / Wish list / Re: minitube 1.7 on: January 10, 2012, 13:25:45 PM
I see the point, but most of the time when they bring out a linux distro,
they 'freeze' the software. So not update the software, but only update
some security-bugs.
New version of software comes with new releases of the distro, or the distro
must be a rolling-distro, and Pardus is not Wink

And .. if there will be a new version in the official repo , then it is newer and pisi will
update it.

It is more a decision of the pardususer repo then really an interference.
But it is like you already say ... how you define interference?
312  General / Wish list / Re: minitube 1.7 on: January 09, 2012, 23:47:37 PM
You can see it as the ppa's from Ubuntu, where the ubuntu guys/girls also not update
software for the release they bring out. So then the users create there own repos where
you can find the newest versions.
Not an idea for pardususer.de?
313  General / Wish list / Re: minitube 1.7 on: January 09, 2012, 23:43:50 PM
Mmmm .. its not interfere, its just an update. And if the official guys/girls not have time for it, is it then so bad the users doing it?
But ok .. then i use it for myself Wink
314  General / Wish list / minitube 1.7 on: January 09, 2012, 21:22:02 PM
Did an update for minitube, so it is now version 1.7 ..

Here are the build files, so if someone can place them in the pardususer.de repo?
Maybe atolboo again Smiley

315  General / Wish list / Re: QGIS plugin error on: January 06, 2012, 22:51:04 PM
