Have many of the past/present official developers have been contacted - and what sort of response has there been?
I try to contact all of them, i send all the former developers a mail, and also lot of people who are on the contribute-list.
The former developers nobody responded. I talked  with one on Facebook, and he has no more intrested in Pardus.
The contribute-list, few of them responded, mostly testers.

Any feedback from groups or developers about a central hub of focus?
The feedback is: First stable x64 and x86 repo, stable root system and then build an ISO based on this.
After that they focus more on creating community and teams.

The developers with a playgroud are: badibere, pantera, kuftkufti, marcin, metalmanbaris, namso, richdb, sezaiyorum and yusuf.

Has it now been 100% decided that it is pointless having any involvement with the official project and that Anka is going to form as a basis for the development of the ‘community edition’ of Pardus?
Not decided yet.

Hey kobzeci,

Thanks for you answer, but still got some questions.

- 2 community managers? promised by who? and when? this year?
- No priority? Who give it no priority?
- And you say that this worldforum is blocked by some Turkish network provider?

81  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Pardus 2011.2 and Gnome 2.32 on: June 06, 2012, 15:05:42 PM
Question:

I love to work with Pardus and Gnome 2.32. So not the new Gnome, but the old one.
Now there where some packages avaliable in the past (some .be repo, and COMAR).
But now i not really can find anything.
That is not a problem, because we can build it ourselves, only i need to know them what
software (packages) in need for a total (standard) Gnome desktop. Anybody an idea?

http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/desktop/2.32/2.32.1/sources/

Do i need them all? And i what order? And what changes on Pardus for example gdm?

Thanks allready Smiley

Totaly agree with you saygili Smiley
88  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: Pardus ... back to the future? on: May 30, 2012, 18:58:18 PM
Mmm .. still can not read it totaly (google translate still is not that good).

But things i notice and question i have are:
- Pardus Advisory Board decide the future of Pardus;
- Anka is developed under the leadership of Pardus Users Associaton
- in 2011 the final version of Pardus came??? (yeah, nice political answer)
- TUBUTAK will continue official version of Pardus (corporate edition?)
- The rest is more political blaah blaah ..

So what changed? Not really much, there comes not a real community edition, because it
is under supervise of the board (And in the board are Ahmet Kaplan and Sezai Yaniay).

But where i got most fear of is the way they want to change Pardus, it is the contrary of my vision
you can read here:

http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index.php?topic=4371.msg24368;topicseen#msg24368

And a reaction on my vision from Gokmen Goksel on facebook:

Gokmen says:
We tried to create a distro which works out-of-the-box, yes. And we always stayed on this vision
so Pardus is here. If you take this feature out you will fail. If you decided to make something
completely different from Pardus itself you have to fork it, you shouldn't use its brand/logos etc.
of course you may say "it'based on Pardus".

And later on he says:
In English: If you don't keep features which make Pardus different from other distros you lost
Pardus's userbase like Richard said. If you are planing to make a distro to play with 3-5 people
as a hobby it's fine to ship multiple desktop in one CD/DVD. But if you are trying to make Pardus
alive you need to make it Pardus way or making it under another brand/name and show
that "it's powered by Pardus".
