I have a stupid question: how to change the language of the text in an OpenOffice document? (For example the default is English, but I want to set all text as Dutch)

I can't find where to do that..

Thanks, I'm going to give it a try.
5  Assistance / Software / No sound in (3D) games on: March 22, 2007, 16:44:14 PM
With Pardus I have already had a few times that I thought "huh? the sound does not work?" with music and games. Then for some reason the volume appears to be 0% - I don't know what is causing that.
6  Assistance / Bugs / Problem with standby / suspend on: March 21, 2007, 16:27:07 PM
Until today I thought that the standby and suspend options from pardus just dont work. When I started pardus again after having set it to standby, I just got a black screen. Now I discovered that when I press ESC then, sometimes a login box appears and I can start the computer normally! Sometimes it helps when I just type something and press Enter - then I get an error message and the login box appears.
There is definitely something wrong with this...

And about suspend options:
Suspend to Disk works good on my computer
Suspend to RAM does not work - just get a black screen and I can not do anything.

Another small problem: after I have started my computer from standby, my internet connection does not work. When I stop my internet connection and start it again, everything works fine again.

One (very) positive point: In Pardus 2007.1 I have no longer the problem that after a system crash the read/write access to my Windows partitions is gone. I'm very glad with that!

I don't know how to report these bugs - I can't speak turkish and don't understand http://bugs.pardus.org.tr/enter_bug.cgi

7  Assistance / Software / Katapult - how to change settings? [solved] on: March 21, 2007, 13:45:55 PM
ok ok, found the solution here:

http://katapult.kde.org/handbook#Configuration_Dialog

Quote
If Katapult does not show up in the system tray, simply press Alt-Space. Once Katapult launches, then press Ctrl-C.

besides, with katapult you can also do calculations (enter for example 2.3+4.5), and you have a spell checker (Enter for example "spell organisation")... Very cool!
8  Assistance / Software / Katapult - how to change settings? [solved] on: March 21, 2007, 11:47:53 AM
I was playing around with Katapult.

Now I have a small problem: I have selected not to show the icon of katapult in the taskbar. That works ok, but - how can I change the settings now again? (I can no longer click the icon and choose "Settings"...)

10  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / 3D games are working very slow [solved] on: March 20, 2007, 12:20:22 PM
Problem solved!

I have:
- started the Package Manager via Tasma
- installed the packages nvidia-glx-new, nvidia-kernel-new and nvidia-tools-new
- started Konsole and entered "sudo nvidia-xconfig"
- restarted my system

Now everything works fine!
11  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / 3D games are working very slow [solved] on: March 20, 2007, 11:12:00 AM
I tried some games in Pardus linux, but the 3D games are working very slow. For example Chromium and Supertux.

I have an AMD processor and Nvidia graphical card. Do I have to install drivers for this to solve the problem? (as for example discussed here: http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/viewtopic.php?t=2&highlight=nvidia)

I have installed the program octave via the package manager. But I can not find it anywhere in the Programs menus. Does anybody know how I can start octave now?

15  Assistance / Bugs / Problem accessing Windows partition since upgrade to 2007.1 on: March 19, 2007, 21:03:38 PM
Maybe I will do that some day, or maybe I can buy an external harddisk. I have a pretty new Packard Bell desktop computer, no laptop.

and for now: I make backups and copies soooo often... Smiley
