16  General / Tips and tricks / Beryl and Java on: March 21, 2007, 12:56:56 PM
If anyone is using Pardus with Beryl, there is a small workaround to get Java apps to work (otherwise their window will be empty).
Open up ~/.bashrc or /etc/bashrc for editing
Code:

nano ~/.bashrc

Insert as the first line
Code:

export AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit

Restart window manager and all terminal windows

This work for Java 5, since Java 6 is not yet available in Pisi

21  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / installed Pardus 2k7.1: some important questions! on: March 19, 2007, 18:52:59 PM
1) I guess you should check Suse documentation, since they created it
3) As long as beryl it's in the unofficial repositories it won't update automatically. but it's a quite easy operation nevertheless.
For the use of beryl without aiglx or xgl, it's not possible. I think Suse does all the necessary configuration for aiglx automatically, so the user thinks it doesn't need anything

Hi, if I get to Tasma->User Account->Password & User Account I get a message saying that I can't change my image because admin disabled it. But there's no administrator button... also an user should have the permissions to change it! Am I the only one who has this problem?
