Hope this helps out
18  Assistance / Software / Re: Pardus 2008 - Firefox 3.0 on: July 01, 2008, 21:08:41 PM
The problem is the combination of flash and firefox 3.0 on linux in general. It appears that flash doesn't work well with ff3, and when flash crashes it takes ff3 down too.

Have a look here:
19  Assistance / Bugs / Re: (probably) Sun Java is spamming error messages in my home folder on: July 01, 2008, 20:40:43 PM
Guess what... It stopped!  Grin

I really don't have a clue what I did, but my cpu is 'normal' now (around 10%) and my home folder isn't spammed anymore with error messages. I just hope it doesn't start all over again with a reboot, but so far so good Smiley

Thx for all your replies

EDIT: Oh, I remeber why it stopped, I turned java off, but a reboot was needed for the changes to take effect. I don't have the need for Java right now, but I still consider this as a serious bug.

EDIT2: Well, it started again. I would appreciate it if a developer could look at this... and why can't I remove java?
20  Assistance / Bugs / Re: (probably) Sun Java is spamming error messages in my home folder on: July 01, 2008, 18:19:48 PM
nope, don't have java. It is in your home folder, so you shouldn't need root rights to acces it (but even if I am root, it still doesn't exists). /.java just doesn't exists

Hmm, I don't have that folder...

sander@Klaptop ~ $ cd .java
bash: cd: .java: Bestand of map bestaat niet

I don't know which folder it has to be in... do you have a clue?
23  Assistance / Bugs / (probably) Sun Java is spamming error messages in my home folder on: July 01, 2008, 16:23:54 PM

I have a problem. Just installed Kde4 from the repositories and rebooted. It runs fine, but in Kde4 Java is just really spamming error messages in my home folder. They come in like 10 messages a second (really!)

Here is some console output. All the commands are given in +/- 0,3 secs after eachother:

sander@Klaptop ~ $ rm -f *.log

24  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Updates for Pardus 2007.3 on: June 30, 2008, 23:05:07 PM
Once an update in installed, itÅ› effects will last as long as the OS is up and running  Wink

Well, isn't that obvious xD

But I guess Andreas means that, like 2007 has kernel 1.4 (just an example) and 1.5 is released, will 1.5 be included in the 2007.3 repositories, and if yes, for how long? (1.6, 1.7 etc)
25  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Game (Urban Terror) + Teamspeak on: June 30, 2008, 16:48:43 PM
Hi there,

I use Pardus 2008, but it is impossible to get sound for both UrT and Teamspeak at the same time. When TS is started first, my headset will send/recieve sound to TS only. When UrT is started first, the headset will only get sound from Urt, not from TS (no sound is sent). The headset is not an USB one. There should be an option somewhere which enables the sound card to send/recieve sound to more than one application. Another strange thing is, I can listen to music (amaroK) and play UrT at the same time and I get sound from both.
26  Assistance / Pardus for beginners / Re: question on passwords with Pardus on: June 30, 2008, 16:16:13 PM
Some commands are hidden but for the root user. Sudo won't find it, but su will.
27  Assistance / Installing Pardus / Re: Installing Pardus 2008 on: June 30, 2008, 15:34:57 PM
But I thought he didn't have a seperate /home partition, so he still has to back-up his home folder (like the wiki says). I guess it is always advisible to do a fresh install rather than an upgrade, your system will run smoother Smiley.
28  Assistance / Installing Pardus / Re: Installing Pardus 2008 on: June 29, 2008, 23:28:25 PM
It is not possible to upgrade 2007 to 2008, because the system itself has changed a lot. If you install the 2008 version, all of your tweaks will be lost, but if you back-up your home directory (/home/<user>) which contains all your program settings, most of them should be saved. Just copy the contents of your back-upped folder to the new one and you should be fine.

Maybe the devs have some folders they would like you to exclude because maybe some configuration files might give errors on 2008, but I'm not sure Wink
29  Assistance / Bugs / Re: Pardus 2008 with mobile Intel graphics card on: June 29, 2008, 23:25:22 PM
I just found out that it has something to do with the 'intel' driver itself. I've selected the universal vesta driver, and almost all the problems are gone. I don't have the annoying flikkering anymore. Maybe a kernel update with a better intel driver is the solution, and I want to stress that this didn't occur in the 2007 version.
30  Assistance / Bugs / Re: Pardus 2008 with mobile Intel graphics card on: June 29, 2008, 13:58:38 PM
Well, there isn't much to configure, it already uses the 'intel' driver, and has 1280x800 as it's resolution.
