That's because GTK1 is getting old and its maintenance is getting harder. They took gtk1 and gtk1 based applications to playground repo.

Here are xmms source pisi packages: http://svn.pardus.org.tr/pardus/playground/applications/multimedia/
And here are gtk1 and glib1 source packages:

Would Pardus work on a Dell Inspiron 1300?
I wish I could buy it without Windows, would at least make it 50 euro cheaper....
As I said before, it works so well on my inspiron 6000, and I think it will do as well with inspiron 1300 configuration. Only thing I didn't like about 1300 is its black case. Inspiron 6000 has a silver case having multimedia buttons on front, from which you can control amarok and volume Smiley

I'm using Dell Inspiron 6000 notebook with intel graphics card. It works perfectly with Pardus. I mean really perfect! all features work...
PS: You need to edit xorg.conf to have a mouse wheel on touchpad. And multimedia keys can be used with the help of a program called "lineak". Btw, You may like these web sites: http://www.linux-laptop.net/ http://tuxmobil.org/

Can I also add http://pisidepo.dt.gen.tr/pisearch/ as a repository?

Sorry, you can't. Because we're having some hosting problems there with the server Sad
I put one pisi package a day here: http://pisidepo.dt.gen.tr/paketler
You can download these packages and install them using pisi.
Code:
sudo pisi install packagename.pisi

Note: pisi can directly install from URL. So,
pisi it http://someaddress.com/x.pisi works...

edit: that pisi packages will not work with pardus 1.0. They are built for pardus 1.1.

Most of the tar.gz packages can be compiled and installed under Pardus. But first you must install compilation tools by typing this command in *console:
Code:
pisi it system.devel
Note that this is only required on Pardus 1.0. Pardus 1.1 comes with those tools already and you don't need to type this.

After installing that tools you need to extract tar.gz archive and compile it using these commands:
Code:
tar xzvf acrhivename.tar.gz
cd archivename
./configure
make
sudo make install

After installing successfully, cou can run the program by typing its name on the console.

*You may open a console window using Pardus menu>Programs>System>Konsole
