That looks like a useful program for live CD. Please consider opening a bug report. Putting an application in live CD is our release manager's job. And he won't do it unless someone creates a report describing why it's necessary at  http://bugs.pardus.org.tr

It's been a long time but the answer is:
Run skype from KDE menu, don't try on console.
33  Assistance / Pardus for beginners / Re: Epson DX4400 on: February 27, 2008, 14:05:59 PM
I have DX3850 but yours should work the same way:
  • Open programs>system>console, and type /usr/sbin/lsusb Note down the id of your scanner.
  • type kdesu kwrite /etc/sane.d/epson.conf
  • change the usb id with your printer's id
  • It should look like that at the end:
# epson.conf

# For libusb support for unknown scanners use the following command
# usb <product ID> <device ID>
usb 0x4b8 0x818

# And for the scanner module, use the following configuration:
usb /dev/usbscanner0
usb /dev/usb/scanner0

I really don't know much about printers but you should try copying the ppd file to /usr/share/cups/model/ directory. then restart cups service using service manager and try adding your printer from tasma.

Also this site may be useful: http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Epson-Stylus_Photo_RX585

You need to give some privilages to the new user to enable su command.

Login with your old user and open User Manager in Tasma. Edit the new user and add it to wheel group.
36  General / Wish list / Re: Resizing of partitions in Yali on: January 30, 2008, 09:37:21 AM
YALI4 will have much better partitioning capabilities and a nicer gui. Gökmen Göksel is working hard on it since last month.

They'll probably be fixed when you update. Even for Tasma:

You don't need tasma-extra now. Notice the new Settings menu in TASMA. It has Show Extra Modules.
40  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Trashcan on: January 22, 2008, 09:34:29 AM
There should be a better way but this is my way of bringing trash back:
* Right click the desktop
* Create New>Link to Location (URL)
* Type trash:/ instead of url
41  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: How to read a midi file ? on: January 21, 2008, 20:20:23 PM
Try starting timidity service first:
Go to TASMA>System>Service Manager then start timidity
Then go to Sound System settings in TASMA and choose timidity as midi device

44  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Can't change DMA mode on: January 13, 2008, 14:13:28 PM
I had the same problem with inspiron 6000. Try using the Boot Manager in TASMA:
Edit your Pardus entry and add this at the end of your kernel parameters
Mine is like that:
root=/dev/sda2 video=vesafb:nomtrr,pmipal,ywrap,1024x768-32@60 console=tty2 mudur=language:tr quiet combined_mode=libata resume=/dev/sda4
45  General / The Pub / Re: Pardus Wiki Translations? on: January 12, 2008, 09:55:00 AM
Personally, I am very frustrated about the COMAR turkish-only documentation webpages. Here and there.
Official Pardus translator said that English comar documents will be done after comar2 is released. So I don't want to do double work here. comar2 has many changes (now uses PolicyKit and DBUS).
