1  Assistance / Laptop / Re: Problem with headset sound on toshiba laptop on: September 16, 2009, 11:12:41 AM
I don't know why and how but headset started to work correctly - couple a days ago i decided to remove /etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel file and then I tried my headset and it just started to work.

Didn't do anything special before that, just done update from Pardus repositories.

Anyway my toshiba is now fully functional on Pardus 2009 Smiley

Thanks for quick reply.

It seems to be the same problem. If not, so feel free to open another Bug.

That bug is describing problem with speakers, I have problem with headphone. If I dont solve this in couple of days will create separate bug issue.

create a document named snd-hda-intel

I have tried to create /etc/modprobe/snd-hda-intel and restart laptop and still have the same problem. Also I have tried next combinations:

/etc/modprobe/snd-hda-intel.conf
/etc/modprobe/alsa-base
/etc/modprobe/alsa-base.conf

With restarting after each change and nothing happens - still I am hearing sound only on laptop speakers and not in headphones.
5  Assistance / Laptop / [Solved] Problem with headset sound on toshiba laptop on: August 25, 2009, 13:59:31 PM
Hi,

I have a problem with sound output on toshiba satellite a135 laptop with Pardus 2009. Sound is working OK on laptop speakers, but when I plug in headset in mic input and sound output connectors - microphone is working but I am still hearing sound on speakers and not on headset.

In sound mixer for hda intel I have headphone and speaker channels. When I mute speaker channel I don't hear sound on speakers, but when I unmute headphone channel I still don't hear anything in headset.

I have search a little bit and it seems that lot of users of Ubuntu have the same problem - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/218817. Suggested solution there is to edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base and add this line

    options snd-hda-intel model=laptop-micsense

But I cant find alsa-base file in Pardus?

Anybody knows solution for my problem?

Toshiba Satellite A135. Pardus 2007, 2008 and even live 2008 with KDE 4 works very well with this laptop - wireless, card reader, power management... everything works. I only have problem with external audio out connector - microphone is working ok but audio out is not working - but I don't need this so I didn't bother to check where is the problem.

Thanks for great distro Smiley
7  Assistance / Software / Re: Pardus 2008 - Firefox 3.0 on: July 02, 2008, 12:41:08 PM
I also have problem with Firefox look. I have done upgrade from 2007.3 to 2008. Firefox and all others gtk applications was very ugly - i think they used default gtk style.

Then I erased next files from my home dir:
.gtk_qt_engine_rc
.gtkrc-2.0
.gtkrc-2.0-kde

And now situation is much better. I still have some minor issue with tabs in gtk apps but the rest is ok.

Code:
sudo pisi build http://svn.pardus.org.tr/pardus/playground/caglar/applications/network/skype/pspec.xml
sudo pisi it skype*.pisi

I have tried to install skype with this method. Install went ok but when I try to lunch skype I have next error:

Code:
$ skype
skype: /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.6/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.1' not found (required by skype)
skype: /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.6/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.4' not found (required by skype)

Can anyone help?
Thanks.
10  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / problem with pptp on: April 01, 2007, 10:24:29 AM
Hello to all,

I have a problem setting pptp connection in Pardus. Where is /etc/network/interfaces file? I need it to add new ppp interface like this:

Code:
auto ppp0
iface ppp0 inet ppp
provider kbcnet

Also I can't find ifup and ifdown commands.

Thanks,
Ivica
