1  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: how to set the limit for the speed of the package-manager's downloading? on: August 08, 2007, 15:59:40 PM
Ups
previous post is incorrect because it seems that the 'trickle' program does not put a limit on package-manager!

May be it because it is a python enterpreted program?
What the developers may say about this?
2  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: how to set the limit for the speed of the package-manager's downloading? on: August 08, 2007, 15:01:46 PM
the answer:
http://www.linux.com/articles/61293

the file doing the download is
/usr/lib/pardus/pisi/fetcher.py  on your pardus.
3  General / Wish list / i want to be able to set the download speed limit for pisi utility on: August 07, 2007, 10:51:08 AM
because downloading a lot of updated packeges is link consuming for there are many users on our link.

or does anybody know where to look for the python code in charge for the download.
4  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / how to set the limit for the speed of the package-manager's downloading? on: August 07, 2007, 09:52:51 AM
who knows?

and buy the way where to look in *.py files to see the code that drives downloads of *.pisi files  in package-manager (or may be pisi utility?)

Why?
6  General / Wish list / Re: may be swap device access with dm-crypt ? http://www.saout.de/misc/dm-crypt/ on: July 09, 2007, 15:23:19 PM
To replay to your "what would you like to do with this" i'll say that personally me will nothing. For now.
This is not my urgent wish though I put it in your forum's "wish list" branch.
It's just an idea, a very logical one.
Since every thing in memory may end up in swap space.

OK just an idea for others.
7  General / Wish list / may be swap device access with dm-crypt ? http://www.saout.de/misc/dm-crypt/ on: July 03, 2007, 14:48:58 PM
http://www.saout.de/misc/dm-crypt/
just because it swap space ....
everything is there.
May be You should consider to mount it and have a transparent encryption available?
8  General / Wish list / Explanation of debuging the python part of pardus needed! on: June 27, 2007, 10:09:18 AM
It would be nice to have an explanation from you about debuging the *.py part of the Pardus.
No it's not nice!    It's necessary. If only you gave the doc on how you debug your Pyyhon codes I would improve your package manager definitely.
By the way what is your IDE? and so on.
--------------------------
Bare in mind that its hard to look through all your CVS to figure out how you manage the debuging for the beginer.

11  Assistance / Bugs / Grub stage1 code did note start (didn't boot) after todays update with PackageMa on: June 07, 2007, 15:22:01 PM
It is my luck i had not delete the previous suse instalation from hard disk partiotion.
I've used it to start computer and to 'chroot' to the pardus partiotion after the pardus did not start because of the recent (07.06.2007 16.00 gmt-2) update done by pardus package manager.

I had to run
1. mount -t proc proc proc
2.  'grub', said root (hd0,7), setup (hd0,7)  to install grub manualy.

Such things happen.
12  Assistance / Software / have you got the answer? on: April 10, 2007, 11:29:39 AM
Do you know the answer to your question now?
I'm interesting in it too.
