I only have one HD, and have just copied over the stanza from the Pardus root partition. I tested 2007.3 just to make sure that something wasn't up, and that worked fine.

Oh well....

RC1 and still no beans here - same error message.

Very strange (RC1 of SuSE 11 does the same thing).

I've installed three times now and have tried various grub combinations - by this screenshot it doesn't seem as if I actually have a kernel installed!

Installing 2008 I opted to put grub on the Pardus root rather than the MBR, and then copied the stanza over.
On booting though, I get a grub error 2 'Bad file or directory'. Reading about this, it seems that error 2 arises when the file pointed to does not exist, or if it is symlinked. The line with the problem is the kernel line - in my root /boot I have an initramfs package (tar?), but the kernel seems to be a file rather than a package. Is the grub entry symlinked (and if so, where is the kernel?) or has the installation not installed it?

So let me get this straight: Basically I run as root in the GUI but not from the CLI? I can see the advantages of that, given that malware can't move and click a mouse, but lets say I left my PC unguarded for 10 mins - what would stop someone from removing core programs with PiSi? I read in the debate with that Berenger loon that one of the Pardus devs believes that security is inherently compromised in this instance anyway, but there's no need to make it easy for anyone. Ok - I can lock the screen  but let's say I had a late night reading up oin Pardus and forgot?

Maybe it would help if there was more documentation in English - the COMAR docs on the official Pardus website are all in Turkish still 

I'm not sure if I get this. What's to stop any malware from altering my system settings if I'm not being prompted for my password? And I don't want to have less rights via Tasma or anything else - I just want to be prompted to verify that I am who I claim to be.

I really like Pardus but I am having some concerns about the security model.
