Question.Does Pardus Network Manager come preloaded with instances of DNS/nameserver preloaded with Turkish addresses? Or did that just happen on my box?
It uses default DNS addresses which are Pardus' official DNS when you don't set different DNS addresses while you're creating new connection. You can see the related lines with DNS in creation window.

Hello, OzgurlukIcin team is planning to work on an English version of the page. However, there is no exact time when the page will be ready, and I guess that it will take a bit long time Pardus supports the growing English community but as you pointed out, there is not enough resource to maintain the English version. I'm looking forward to an official statement from ozgurlukicin team as well. I think the only need for us is patience Cheers, Eren

In my opinion, channel names are not good. #pardus-support is really a general channel that can fool users into false thinking.
I think, #pardus-de is convenient as there is #pardus-en for English-speaking users.
Could you guys drop #pardus-support and #pardus-unterstuetzung then register #pardus-de channel?

I edited the topic to delete "solved". The solution for this topic is not adding a repository and installing RealPlayer. We can't just suggest users to add a repository and install unmaintained application(s), it may harm their systems..

Andreas, this repository is not handled by Pardus developers and there is no security policy it. Package makers for this repository are not aware of security bugs of their packages and I suggest that you don't use and suggest it to users For example, GTK1 (which is *officially* not supported) is in this repository and no-one maintains it. Also, GTK1 may contain security bugs..

RealPlayer has vulnerabilities and it's really hard to maintain. Instead of packing and dealing with RealPlayer, it was deleted from repositories. I suggest that you use VLC as it is more secure and useful. Additionally, please do not trust 3rd packages distributed with rapidshare (or other way) by 3rd person. When you install RealPlayer, you will not be aware of vulnerabilities it has in the future and one day, someone can use these vulnerabilities to break your computer

KDE4 is not ready for end-users yet, so, Pardus team have decided to stick with KDE 3.5. When Pardus team think that KDE4 is ready for end-users, I'm sure they will do whatever should be done =) Dock thingy may seem you good but they may seem others bad It's a design decision and I don't think kooldock etc. will suit to desktop. It would make look&feel worse. But I completely agree mixing approaches altogether. Business from OpenSUSE, Marketing from Ubuntu, Feature from MintInstall etc I'm sure, Pardus will be #1 in 2 years. Pardus has a good achievement although it's just a 3-year-old project.

Please use a real IRC client. Web based IRC clients may not be convenient and they may attempt to steal your identity (e.g, when you identfy your nickname) You can use "chatzilla (firefox addon)" if you don't have konversation or Xchat. I registered channel named #pardus-en on irc.freenode.net, It's for only English as you see You can, of course, ask your questions at #pardus as well. Feel free to choose whatever you want. Comments and suggestions are welcomed

[~]> pisi sf [ Package coreutils has file /usr/bin/[
I think, it's used for bash expressions. It seems that it's not suspicious Coreutils package is a system package that all the distros use.

I don't have privilege to update the SMF version. Gürken sent me an information about that issue last months, I informed Willem but he seems to have forgot to update it. I hope, it will be updated soon Thank you for your information.
