Enjoy your days in Kusadasi. It's quite a cool place =) I wish, I'd visit you but Kusadasi is far away from me Sad
32  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Problem with Pisi - hangs with update of Orbit 2 on contrib repository on: May 23, 2008, 21:31:56 PM
Well, it's my fault that I updated libIDL on buildfarm to compile orbit2. But libIDL is still in testing repository and you get an error.

Orbit2 update is not critical, you can either wait or install new version of libIDL from testing repository. I guarantee that libIDL is stable and you can update it via;

sudo pisi it http://paketler.pardus.org.tr/pardus-2007-test/libIDL-0.8.10-3-4.pisi
33  Assistance / Pardus for beginners / Re: Pisi package management to hard to find on: May 23, 2008, 15:34:49 PM
pisi is easy but i like it in console (apt is greeting!)
but adding repos could be easier!- also where is my "sources-list"?
Your source list;

pisi list-repo

To add repo, see;

pisi help add-repo
34  Assistance / Bugs / Re: Not a bug (i think ......) kernel update and GRUB issue on: May 08, 2008, 18:08:47 PM
Hi all!
In the last period that i've been using and updating Pardus 2007.3, i've noticed that after a kernel upgrade, that new entry was added in my menu.lst GRUB file.
 Let's say that i'm upgrading from release 86 build 90 to the last build 99. So the kernel filename will be kernel- in both cases.
  And let's suppose that we're doing more than one upgrade per release , you'll get having a long GRUB select list. (i know ..... edit menu.lst)
   Just wanted to point it....

It's a really nice feature that Pardus offers to its users. It's not a bug, really Smiley When you update your kernel, say different version, you have to update your grub entry to use the latest kernel. Pardus automates it, after updating kernel, new kernel entry is automatically added to grub.
35  Assistance / Software / Re: PHP5 on: May 05, 2008, 14:44:35 PM
Ahh, you already filed a bug Smiley Let's discuss it on  http://bugs.pardus.org.tr/show_bug.cgi?id=7168
36  Assistance / Software / Re: PHP5 on: May 05, 2008, 14:42:24 PM
I don't know why PHP maintainer disable ctypes but it *maybe* because of security issues. It's my opinion :-) Why do you need ctypes in PHP, could you provide me an URL about ctypes' importance? After discussion this issue on this forum, you can file a bug report and I can enable ctypes support.
37  General / General topics / Re: Can the Pardus e-zine become available in other languages than turkish alone on: April 27, 2008, 13:31:10 PM
Kaptan isn't ready for 2008, it needs a bit development Smiley You may be seeing it in next weekly release but I'm not sure.

Btw, you can try Kaptan from SVN. Check it and install;

(it requires python2.5, please install it on 2008)
38  General / Wish list / Re: Polish language on: April 27, 2008, 11:29:32 AM

There is nobody who knows Polish in Pardus community. You can easily translate our tools into Polish and when it's done, Polish language can be added to GRUB then you will be able to install Pardus as Polish Wink

You can get more information on http://pardus.org.tr/eng/projects/translation/index.html
Also, you can send e-mail to pardus development list. See the "Contact Us" link.

For sound issue, please turn your speaker down. It has nothing to do with system's sound level.
39  Assistance / Software / Re: Where's Dolphin file manager? on: April 25, 2008, 22:17:17 PM
Dolphin is KDE4's default file management util. You can use it under KDE3 by compiling it by yourself. Dolphin is not supported because it needs KDE4 libraries, Pardus uses KDE 3.5.9 and the best application to manage your files is konqueror which is really great Smiley
40  Assistance / News & Announcements / Re: who wants information about pardus 2008 on: April 22, 2008, 21:49:27 PM
Hey folks, here is the latest weekly release, 2008 - 04 - 21 Wink

41  General / General topics / Re: English PardusWiki on: April 22, 2008, 18:08:10 PM
Because I got a Pardus which failed to start (corrupt xorg.config file?) after following http://en.pardus-wiki.org/Hardware:Installing_nVidia_Drivers I made a new version of this wiki.
I made a copy of the original version.
In this way I can always put it back.

Ask questions about this new wiki here.

Good contribution Smiley This page needed editing to be more clear and it seems that it meets all needs.
42  Assistance / Software / Re: Empty folder list in KMail on: April 22, 2008, 18:03:41 PM
KMail is quite a good e-mail client Smiley

I don't know why you get blank folder but it may be caused by your old configuration. I think you copied your home directory from PCLinuxOS to Pardus?

Did you try to remove these folders?

Btw, is your system up-to-date?
43  General / Wish list / Re: ooVoo Beta for linux on: April 21, 2008, 14:21:47 PM
When it gets stable, it can be packaged of course Wink You only need to file a bug about it. But don't file it unless this software becomes useable.
44  Assistance / Software / Re: skype video is not loading after install on: April 20, 2008, 17:49:15 PM
Could you enter this command to start Skype and paste the output of it? (if present)

LD_PRELOAD=/opt/libstdc/libstdc++.so.6.0.10 skype
45  Assistance / Software / Re: skype video is not loading after install on: April 20, 2008, 07:41:28 AM
Because Skype's new version requies new toolchain (gcc4) and doesn't work on 2007. So we can't update Skype on stable repository. The packager made hack into skype to get it worked and succeeded Wink You can freely use Skype 2.0 if you build it manually. Just enter the command below and start skype from menu.

sudo pisi bi http://svn.pardus.org.tr/pardus/playground/caglar/applications/network/skype/pspec.xml -d
sudo pisi it skype*.pisi
