Assistance / Bugs / Re: Pardus hangs while booting when mount is not available

You know, Pardus uses "mudur" for booting. And mudur runs "mount" application to mount all devices in /etc/fstab. I think, it's normal that Pardus can't start when unavailable device exist in /etc/fstab. But it should be fixed that "mount" should wait 5 or 7 seconds if it can't mount something. I don't think it will be fixed in 2008 because there is no bug report about that. Could you go to bug page and file a bug under "mudur" component? http://bugs.pardus.org.tr/

There is an annoying bug in INTEL graphic chips. As far as I know, new Xorg INTEL driver doesn't work as properly as previous one. I informed xorg maintainer about this situation ~1 week ago and he said he could look for it. PS: It's a development CD, and don't use it as your main desktop distribution

Could you open a console and write "getmail", it should write something. If so, could you paste the output of it?
PS: You can open console by pressing ALT+F2 and writing "konsole"

I have a Xerox-3121 and it works well with Samsung ML-1610. Could you try to re-install driver with TASMA? But be careful that you will be prompted to select a driver version. Default will be something like "foomatic + splix", instead of selecting this, please select "foomatic + gdi".

Great I'm 17. When I started using Linux (actually, beginning to use it), I was 14 and I even didn't know what the shell is for :-) Keep using Linux, and learn a programming language. Python is the best choice for beginning.
