this wheel is really amazing !! Shocked

take a look on http://planet.gentoo.org/developers/betelgeuse/2006/11/26/getting_mx_revolution_setup_in_gentoo

for the moment, i use this mouse as a simple 2 buttons mouse because i've got some issues with Xbindkeys, so if you manage to configure the mouse, please keep me posted
3  Assistance / Hardware / Re: Keyboard - Multimedia keys on: September 22, 2007, 19:28:18 PM
there is an other way to map keys, it's quite simple

at first, use xev (in konsole) to find the key code of buttons
then give to the keycode a name in your .Xmodmap (it's in your home), the list of available names can be find in /usr/share/X11/XKeysymDB

as an example, you can see mine (logitech cordless desktop pro)
Code:
!default keycodes for most common notebooks (except for meteksan a4 harita metots)
!k122 pour le bouton de la souris

keycode 176 = XF86AudioRaiseVolume
keycode 174 = XF86AudioLowerVolume
keycode 160 = XF86AudioMute
keycode 153 = XF86AudioNext
keycode 144 = XF86AudioPrev
keycode 162 = XF86AudioPlay
keycode 164 = XF86AudioStop
keycode 161 = XF86Calculator
keycode 178 = XF86WWW
keycode 236 = XF86Mail
keycode 229 = XF86Search
keycode 230 = XF86Go
keycode 223 = XF86Standby
keycode 122 = XF86iTouch

after a reboot you will be able to change the shorcurt in your favorite programs as any other key
enjoy
4  Assistance / Hardware / Re: The damn same old ATI Drivers on: September 10, 2007, 23:08:53 PM
it's some very good news, but they will open the drivers only for R500/R600 series

the best news for me (i've got some old card) is that the new driver seems to be suitable (i don't find the word : "is not shit" as it was) and will integrate AIGLX soon (i've dreamt about it for a very long time)

Night, I am so glad, you are the first people i've helpt in my new linux life Cheesy
but do you have any freeze ? I've got some but i don't know where it comes

if you have already set fglrx as driver in xorg

try this :

remplace the options in this line on your /etc/fstab
Code:
tmpfs                /dev/shm         tmpfs     nodev,nosuid,noexec  0 0

by
Code:
tmpfs                /dev/shm         tmpfs     defaults  0 0
(don't forget to make a backup of this file)

and reboot

that works with the ati-driver from the stable tree (didn't try with the last one, i will wait the next)

hope it will work for you
