Hello guys, I am back and also would like to inform you that the bug regarding nvidia mcp chipsets has been solved for a while by Fatih Asici. I am writing below lines from a thread in bugs.pardus.org.tr [ http://bugs.pardus.org.tr/show_bug.cgi?id=7577 ] * Create a text file under /etc/modprobe.d with kwrite name it mcp for example. * Add this line into it: options snd-hda-intel bdl_pos_adj=0* Restart system |

Well , It's been a week since pardus 2008 released. There is still annoying sound problem for MCP chipsets. Today I decided leave pardus for a while and give ubuntu 8.04 hardy a test drive. As Pardus, ubuntu recognised all my hardware including sound. Yes, sound works great. Besides system is more faster than pardus. Firefox is also faster than pardus' firefox. I think I am gonna use ubuntu for a while at least until pardus 2008.1. Have a nice day :-)  |

Hello,
I wish pardus had put version info into start menu (application menu ) too. When I press start menu I see pardus trademark on the left pointing upward. I say it would be better if it also includes version number too. For example Pardus 2008, pardus 2009, etc.

Unfortunately Pardus 2008 has alsa-driver 1.0.17.rc2 which is not a stable version yet. Latest stable alsa-driver is version 1.0.16. Pardus 2007.3 and probably all of other recent distros use alsa-driver 1.0.16 namely latest stable version.
I don't know what the *hell* they were thinking while including an unstable driver into production system. I hope they immediately replace alsa-driver with it's stable version soon.

I got the same error. But I solved it in a different way. When I install 2008 on my machine keeping home directory intact couses Dbus problem. Then I decided to create a fresh home directory and selected to format it during installation. That has solved my problem. So the bug is related not to good handling of home directory and the config files within it. you better hormat home directory also.
