17  Assistance / Software / Re: [solved] Opera and Flash Problem on: June 12, 2008, 21:01:34 PM
Here is how to get youtube flash movies to work with opera 9.50 beta 2 build 1933 and flash

1. open terminal/console and copy paste this line
find / -name libflashplayer.so 2> /dev/null
2. the path to libflashplayer.so file will follow (something similar to this should appear)
3. go to console login as root and navigate to the folder containing libflashplayer.so
4. copy libflashplayer.so file to /usr/lib/opera/plugins/
5. open opera go to tools ----> preferences ----> advanced ----> click on plugin options ----> click change path
6. the only tick that should stay is the tick next to /usr/lib/opera/plugins/ box all other boxes should remain empty. that way opera will only look for plugins in that specific directory
7. confirm the changes you have made
8. test the plugin on youtube

p.s. report back if this suggested metod works for you
18  General / The Pub / Re: Pardus 2008 RC1 - Review on: June 12, 2008, 20:14:48 PM
the review has stated that mplayer is in turkish, despite that user selected english language during installation. so the question follows, will the final version of pardus 2008 feature mplayer in turkish (like 2007.x) or will it be in english?

Some days ago i wrote :
the easyest way to change that blue KDM background is TASMA
In TASMA , choose System -> Login Manager.
Press Administrator Mode button and enter your root pswd.
Go to the Background Tab and choose your favorite image .

THIS IS complete bogus. You will only show a wallpaper after you are passing KDM.
If you want to change the background of the KDM (the screen were you insert your username and psw), take a look into
If you want to change your KDM theme take a look at :
and follow the install instructions listed on every theme page.

ty werewolf for your interesting reply. i already changed grub splash screen, kdmtheme and splash screen successfuly. bootsplash screen was the only one left to change.
so if i understand you correctly, you cant modify the bootsplash screen after the grub menu selection, that being the first "pardus 2007" image. the remaining 2 "pardus 2007" default images (right before and after kdm theme) have been replaced with your help.

thank you again for your time and patience,

regards bandito

26  General / Wish list / Re: Deluge torrent client on: December 29, 2007, 13:02:57 PM
Heres the explanation about the whole "fuss" with deluge

Also, the summary is highly misleading. This is not a bittorrent-based replacement for TOR as one might conclude from the summary. The browser is merely designed to conceal the IPs of people surfing websites hosting torrents by going through a proxy. You also see ads while using the service. I wonder how long it will take ISPs with an anti-bittorrent agenda to block their proxies...

Quoting TFA's FAQ:

Can we use the internal browser to surf any site?

No. This is a very touchy subject, so I want to be very clear. Our proxy servers have a whitelist of bittorrent-related sites (trackers, index sites, etc), which it allows you to visit.

Why are there ads? Are you turning evil? This is free software!

This is free software, however, our proxy servers (which anonymizies the browsing) costs us very real dollars.

I can't download any files. What is that about?

To prevent abuse, Deluge's internal browser only allows you to download bittorrent files..

@shudde: Whats with the whole Bandido thing, care to fill me in?
27  General / Wish list / Deluge torrent client on: December 28, 2007, 10:39:41 AM
Lately, there has been a lot of talking/ writing about Deluge torrent client. It is the first torrent client that allows completely anonymous browsing through using the TOR (the onion router). More info about this client can be found at deluge home page. Additional infos are available at Slashdot or at Linux.com

Any comments, experiences or thoughts are most welcome.

Happy and peaceful holidays to everyone,

I`m glad to hear that, ty for information  Grin

I have voted for opera and generaly share the same opinion about it as jaideep_jdof, however, flash doesn`t work as it should. I can`t watch videos on google video or youtube. Firefox doesn`t have that kind of problems. Despite flash problems (it says it is installed correcty) I still use Opera as my primary/default web browser.
