, this is both funny
Just letting you know I very much appreciate this and I am enjoying this thread.

Keep up the good work / keep up the Pardus community
This is NOT funny, Michiel!! Grin
PhiX....
I appreciate your effort to help me , as I expressed already a few times here, very much!!!
That is REALY GREAT!!!!!

But ..I did all that you put in words here many times, and it doesn't work with me..!
I think , it is more than the KDE problem!
My DVDcombo is not always working either..!
So, I think I will throw the towel..!
After that I press "ctrl-alt-F1", I do not get anything....
Sometimes I get the mention:
PCI: cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge
(with the numbers) 0000:00:03.0
And  that ...or a black screen is the result..!

Thanks phiX...!

I will try again.....
Maybe until later......

So...I did...and I came twice before the white/green screen which asked me to accept the GNL etc. etc.
But after that I pressed ctrl-alt-F1 and there's nothing....phiX!!!

And I pressed until my fingertips were white...in staccato and in one stream....it didn't matter!!!!

7  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Can't anymore into my Pardus due to KDEproblem on: February 09, 2009, 00:20:29 AM
Am I then in a kind of KONSOLE?Huh?
8  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Can't anymore into my Pardus due to KDEproblem on: February 09, 2009, 00:17:36 AM

That was always EXACTLY my problem with APOLLON!!
So I never used it..
I was mostly on Frostwire and KTorrent!!

PHIX:

I did exactly what you told me, but there must be somewhat in between step 2 and 3
Because;
I started 2007.1 install CD and all I've got was the followig:
Pardus 2007.1 felis chaus standard
Pardus 2007.1 felis chaus graphics mode
Pardus 2007.1 felis chaus minimum
Memory test
Continue from harddisk (which I also tried!!)
Other Languages

So NO KONSOLE whatever...

And with the Pardus 2008, I couldn't even come into the (three by me)kernel possibilities or whatever!!
At least in 2007.1 I've got the blue-Green Leopard head...
So ...I'm down

Thank you very much phiX!!
I am ready now, to attack the problem...
If/when all is well, I report here and in the Dutch section!!
I am curious!
I'll try!!!
See you...and wish me well... Wink

OK I'll do as you wrote
in 8 is it rm RF or rm rf (I had to ask it ,Atalboo figured it out)
And do I have to use 2007 or 2008
Because I am still in 2007 !!And that is 2007
I have both CD's though!!!

phiX,
Thank you ..
But I remember that erickpardus is on sda1...do I have to swap then 4.Huh?
14  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Can't anymore into my Pardus due to KDEproblem on: February 08, 2009, 21:18:18 PM
Thank you Phix
I have still a question:
in 4. How do I find out, and
what do I have to change in 5, and WHERE ??!
I am a beginner with KONSOLE
sudo pisi up
sudo pisi clean
sudo pisi delete-cache
That is about all I did...yes and cal
when I type cfdisk , I guess that there is a list , and then....
PS...And IMPORTANT:
Are NOWHERE spaces inbetween the code's?Huh?
par example: chroot or c h root Huh?
I thought the changing of shell is the command chsh and not ch ...I understand that you want me to come into my rootshell ?!
15  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Can't anymore into my Pardus due to KDEproblem on: February 08, 2009, 18:08:54 PM
But in a nutshell...
These are two problems..!
The latest mention of:
"PCI cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge"
I've got from the beginning of installing PARDUS 2007
After a while it went, and then the xorg started, and I could login with my username
So, I never bothered that anymore..
The real problem is the failure of login in....P.
