Efter att ha använt Ubuntu en tid är jag glad över att slippa Totem – och Pardus är dessutom väldigt snyggt, redan från start, gillar t.ex den lilla detaljen att när man startar något program så studsar dess ikon bredvid muspilen – helfestligt

För mig som inte är någon expert vad det gäller Linux eller så känns Pardus också som ett bra alternativ, allting känns så utstuderat och smart, enkelt och roligt att navigera runt bland menyer o.s.v.

Sen är det kul att känna sig litet orginell också, det är ju trots allt redan så många som kör Ubuntu. Har nästan börjat tröttna på allt ståhej vad det gäller den disten.

In Ubuntu Linux there's IP tables, all of Ubuntu's ports are open but not one of them is a listening port by default, so unless I start some kind of (unnecessary) service myself, I'm as safe as if I had installed Firestarter & with it, made IP tables blacklist all kinds of traffic, completely closing the ports & then I'd have to allow certain ports via Firestarter.

I am right, am I?

If I haven't misunderstood things to begin with, I'm now wondering if this is the same thing in Pardus?

Do I need the Pardus Firewall up and running? I noticed it wasn't on by default, I had to turn it on myself.

Part of the reason why I'm asking is because I'm having trouble getting ktorrent to accept incoming connections. It says that it might be my firewall that's the issue, even though I've added the appropriate ports in the firewall.

Is there an easy-to-understand guide somewhere in which I can read up on the Pardus firewall?

Vi lär väl i alla fall behöva och ganska långt framöver främst fokusera på att bli några dussintals personer till som delar vår passion för Pardus innan det verkligen bör bli aktuellt med att spekulera i vad som behövs för att skapa ett eventuellt och ordentligt forum, särskilt som nuvarande forum redan finns till förfogande och som inte alls (även om det finns en del att önska) ser alltför skräpigt ut?
