Anyone finding either Clam or Klam in the repositories yet?  (I'm not!)
2  Assistance / Software / Re: [solved]Clam or Klam? on: July 22, 2008, 23:32:17 PM
I'm still not seeing Klam or Clam in Pisi...can anyone verify that they're actually there?

Many, many thanks...your instructions did the trick!  Good help is awesome!
4  Assistance / Software / Re: [solved]Opera and Flash Problem on: July 19, 2008, 22:08:40 PM
Thanks...but what's next?  I was able to get as far as your example but it ends at the "#"

Can anyone tell me how to do step #3 (3. go to console login as root and navigate to the folder containing libflashplayer.so) in Bandito's post above?  I sign into console as root, type in the folder path and keep getting the result that it's a directory!  I know it's a directory...how to open it seems to be the problem!  Thanks!  (I'm thinking that "navigate" is the key word here!)
6  Assistance / Software / Re: Opening Firefox 3 in maximized mode on: July 05, 2008, 13:58:16 PM
I think I got it!  I hadn't thought of resizing the window.  So I started with it in non-maximized mode and dragged the window to the correct size.  Closed Firefox & then reopened and it was OK...fingers crossed LOL  Thanks for your help!

Thanks Andreas!  Is there any chance that we'll ever get Gnucash (I much prefer that to Kmymoney as I've been using Gnucash for a long time with Mepis).

I added the 2007 repos & was able to install Klam.  But the end results were the same as with Kmymoney...Klam shows under the programs menu but it ultimately does not launch.  By the way, neither Klam nor Kmymoney show as installed programs in Pisi.

Should be but it's not happening for me.  When I start Firefox in each session I always maximize it right off, and leave it maximized when I end the session.  But when I restart the computer & launch Firefox it is no longer in maximized mode.

Thanks...yes...I did understand that.  Kmymoney seems to have installed (it's showing up in the Pardus start menu) but when I click on it to launch it, it looks like it's going to load and then it disappears.  Maybe it's not compatible with Pardus 2008.

Sorry...I have no idea what you mean by:
"You must change in the directory without the pisi-package"
The example that you linked to is also like a foreign language to me...I can't tell what you typed & what the konsole responded with.  Is there any where that I can get step-by-step instructions (spelled out for a newbie)?
12  Assistance / Software / [solved]Opening Firefox 3 in maximized mode on: July 04, 2008, 20:20:20 PM
Since installing to Pardus 2008 (and Firefox 3), every time I launch Firefox it opens in non-maximized mode.  Is there any way to correct this so that it starts in maximized mode (not full screen but maximized)?
13  Assistance / Software / Re: Clam or Klam? on: July 04, 2008, 19:37:10 PM
Ah...but I am in super user mode...see output below:
thasan@thasan-pardus ~ $ su
Password:
thasan-pardus thasan # cd /home/thasan/Desktop/kmymoney-0.8.7-5-4.pisi
bash: cd: /home/thasan/Desktop/kmymoney-0.8.7-5-4.pisi: Not a directory

Also...can the 2007 repos be added to Pardus 2008?  If they can, then that might be a way for me to install Kmymoney, Clam, and Klam!
14  Assistance / Software / Re: Clam or Klam? on: July 04, 2008, 18:09:57 PM
I'm still trying to get these to install (including Kmymoney)
Here's what I get when I try:
thasan-pardus thasan # cd /home/thasan/Desktop/kmymoney-0.8.7-5-4.pisi
bash: cd: /home/thasan/Desktop/kmymoney-0.8.7-5-4.pisi: Not a directory
Any thoughts as to what I'm doing incorrectly?
15  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: background during desktop loading on: July 02, 2008, 00:09:50 AM
Claus:  Well, I see "Appearance & Themes".  It's not the wallpaper so I tried Splash Screen.  When I choose anything but the "Pardus" (which is the golden one) and then click test it shows the background that I chose as things are initializing.  BUT...when I choose the Pardus choice & click test it shows the old blue Pardus 2007 one!  I'd rather not set up a new user...seems like this should be easier than it's turning out to be...
