Reported this bug at bugs.pardus.org.tr and within 30 minutes it was solved! The fix will come with the next upgrade. It was a bug in insmod.
Great and fast work from the Pardus developers!

4  General / The Pub / Re: hardware requiremnets for Pardus and other Linux OSs on: July 12, 2007, 02:32:47 AM
The oldest computer I've installed Pardus on is a AMD K3 400MHz with 256MB Ram. And it runs ok when using that system for browsing internet or mailing. But using OpenOffice or The Gimp is not advisable, unless you have a lot of time and patience...
But it is possible to run Pardus with the XFCE Desktop and that is faster/lighter than KDE.
I too have used Vector Linux on older hardware and I liked it. Haven't tried Puppy (yet), but Damn Small Linux may be a good alternative.
Installing Pardus on a Compac Proliant DL360 server (2x P3, 2x SCSI HD in raid 1) didn't work out, because of the Compac Smart Raid controller: Pardus couldn't cope with that. But I was told that that was a bug, and 2007.2 should install without a problem (haven't tried it yet, I installed Debian on it).

5  Assistance / Bugs / Kernel problem? on: July 12, 2007, 02:15:14 AM
Because of the upgrade to 2007.2 I had to reinstall my VMWare-Player (as I have to do after each kernel-update).
But this time VMWare-Player doesn't install. I get an error:

Code:
Unable to make a vmmon module that can be loaded in the running kernel:
There is probably a slight difference in the kernel configuration between the
set of C header files you specified and your running kernel.  You may want to
rebuild a kernel based on that directory, or specify another directory.

I run kernel 2.6.18.8-86, and the kernel-source is in /usr/src/linux-2.6.18.8-86

I've seen that message many times converting movies from one format to another, but it never gave any problem. So I think it doesn't do any harm.

8  Assistance / Bugs / Re: Grub: wrong entry for new kernel after setting Windows as default on: July 03, 2007, 12:59:54 PM
I suppose there must be a way to accomplish the same in Pardus

Indeed, it shouldn't be a problem.

9  Assistance / Bugs / Re: Grub: wrong entry for new kernel after setting Windows as default on: July 02, 2007, 10:08:12 AM
Whenever the kernel gets a update the first entry of the grub-config will be used to make a new entry (for the new kernel). So don't put Windows as the first entry.
You can put windows as the second entry and change the "default" entry in the head of the menu.lst to "1". But then you'll have to change that after every kernel-update, because the new kernel will be put at the top, and so the Windows entry will drop one place (and no longer be at the second place).

10  Assistance / Pardus for beginners / Re: How can I install LImewire in Pardus? on: July 02, 2007, 10:02:03 AM
Indeed: there is a pisi-package for limewire, but it's in the contrib-repo.

12  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: After installing Pardus 2007.1 K3b don't start on: June 27, 2007, 01:48:03 AM
I think that there is missing something for this program?

Let's first see if the program itself exists and has the proper rights. What's the outcome of:

Code:
ls -l /usr/kde/3.5/bin/k3b

Pse try to start k3b from a konsole:
Just type "k3b" (without the quotes) in a konsole and see what errors you get.

14  General / Wish list / Re: Package manager on: June 20, 2007, 15:00:31 PM
Today I got a major update (abt. 130MB), among which updates of Tasma and Pisi. Pisi seems to be much faster now. So: no more waiting after each letter in the search field  Cheesy
