Sure: you've to download the source from the kde-look.org site, uncompress it with

tar -xjvf 29935-powder-0.6.tar.bz2

then follow the INSTALL instuction:

./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`
sudo make install

and it works  Grin
2  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Print to .pdf? on: April 02, 2008, 22:36:59 PM
I've just make the pisi package of cups-pdf: is a small addon for cups that adds a virtual printer for pdf visible to all the program.

The fast way is to print via kprinter: open the print dialog of firefox, then choose properties and substitute in the command line lpr with kprinter. Now you can choose the pdf printer from the next dialog.
4  Assistance / Bugs / Re: small bug in live version on: March 28, 2008, 13:25:06 PM
Ok partially solved: to avoid the problem edit the grub line (with "E") and modify 1024x768 to 1280x1024 the boot with "B"
BTW I've make some test with 4 different PC and 3 monitor and the problem is only with X200 videocard and LCD panel.
5  Assistance / Bugs / small bug in live version on: March 27, 2008, 16:19:43 PM
I've found a small bug in graphic apparence when using the liveCd on a desktop PC with a X200 integrated graphic card and a LCD monitor with resolution of 1280x1024:
the desktop background is correctly dimensioned to 1280x1024 but the kde panel is stuck as is on a 800x600 monitor at near 3/4 of the screen and roughly 2/3 of lenght. If I move the panel to the end of the screen the K menu still open where the panel was before.
All the apps windows when maximized becomes 800x600 but if I try to enlarge them manually  I can  fit all the screen. Huh?

I've the BCM4312 card on a HP notebook, and works on 2007.3  installing the driver with ndiswrapper (the only thing is that I've to use the driver from the HP site, if I try with other  like the Dell ones it does'nt work at all).
A last thing: you've to blacklist the bcm43xx driver to make ndiswrapper work.
If you don't see the card in lspci output are you sure that is active? lspci shows the hardware list even if it is not supported at all  Undecided

7  Assistance / Laptop / Problem with a Intel X3100 on: March 27, 2008, 10:42:33 AM
I've tested the latest version of Pardus (2007.3) on a friend laptop, but both the LiveCd and and the install version have problems.
The notebook is a Asus F3E series with a Intel X3100 video card. Xserver won't start at all (I've tried all the 3 boot mode in the liveCD), the error is:

(EE) Failed to allocate Framebuffer: is your videoRAM set too low?

lspci tell that the card is a intel GM965/GL960
in the xorg.conf the driver is set to "Intel"
if I change it to "vesa" and do a startx the screen become a pale green then the PC freeze.
No way to set a fixed amount of video memory in bios.

The installCD start normally then after some time the screen become black and again the pc is freezed.
The same cd start normally on another notebook with a NVidia 8400 card and on a PC with a integrated ATI  card (X200).

Anyone have ideas?
Thanks in advance and cheers

I'm using a lot of different distro both for work and for hobby, but I found Pardus really nice and simple to use
