1  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Getting nvidia driver to work with 2008 RC? on: June 28, 2008, 09:54:54 AM
When I try from the packages and configured xorg.conf I get this error:
driver 'nvidia' not found

When I install from the official driver .run file from NVIDIA I get this error:
no screens found

Once I change back to the nv driver is xorg.conf everything runs fine again.

I need the drivers installed otherwise performance is horrible.

I am using Pardus 2008 Final

KDE4 is in the Pardus 2008 Main repository. It runs fine on Pardus 2008 RC2.

UPDATED: New Script added

I have added a new 'install_packages.sh' script that installs all packages in the current directory automatically. Just run it in a terminal as root.

Possible uses are including it in your pisibackup folder so you can easily install all updates/software easily after a re-install.

It's attached.

The cache must be on before the packages get downloaded. It should be the default option but it's not. It may be the default option in Pardus 2008.

Pardus 2008 should come out later this year.  Shocked

Check the progress here.  Wink

I made a program and if the pisi cache is enabled in package manager it will backup your downloaded PiSi packages to a folder on your desktop.
It may be useful for re-installations so you don't need to download everything again.

I've attached the program to the post a few posts below.
