154  General / The Pub / [solved]Latest topics/posts and SMF version? on: June 11, 2008, 09:26:24 AM
Hi @all,

does someone know, where I can find the Links "Show unread posts since last visit." and "Show new replies to your posts." ?

And why do we use still the older 1.1.4 version of SMF? There is already a updated version 1.1.5:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=236816.0

Updating SMF to a newer version is very simple. You can update it by Administrator Center or over the SMF Package Manager.

155  Assistance / Software / Howto building PiSi from Source (*.tar.gz/bz2)? on: June 09, 2008, 09:58:37 AM
Hi all Smiley

does someone know a complete How-to to build PiSi packages from source files (like *.tar.gz or *.tar.bz2) ?

There is already a Turkish wiki - but my Turkish is not well:
http://tr.pardus-wiki.org/Pisi#.C4.B0lgili_Maddeler

The English How-to is incomplete, I can’t really use them to build PiSi Package from source files:
http://en.pardus-wiki.org/Pisi_Package

So I need an English one (or better German  Roll Eyes ). But it should be a complete documentation ...

Are there any ideas ?

157  Assistance / Software / Re: Live-CD/DVD's with "mklivecd" on Pardus on: May 27, 2008, 22:42:52 PM
Hi Heiko,

at first you should build "pardusman" package from the "dev" repository, by using the PiSi finder tool namend "pisibul":
http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index.php?topic=1539.0

After the setup of "pardusman" you can start it over a terminal.

Pardusman comes with a graphical user interface. It is a simple way to create your own Pardus Linux ISO-image (USB-stick, cd/dvd, a.s.o.)

I made my own Live-CD ISO-image, few days ago. But I haven't got enough time to try it real. So I hope that this weekend I'll try it  Grin

Hi Paulus,

did you try any of the boot options noapi, noacpi, noapm, noscsi or "failsafe" ?

I think that's a ACPI problem ...

Anyone an idea how to succeed and get Pardus or PCLinuxOS on this machine?
By PCLinuxOS I had the same troubles with the newer Kernels 2.5.22^ .
But PCLinuxOS works with the old Kernel 2.6.18 well.

With Pardus 2007.3 there are no troubles - it works well out-of-box on my HP Pavilion dv6650eg Smiley

I thought Pardus 2008 would be a possibility, but the download didn't complete.
I tried 2 times, and two times it stopped at 540Mb
You should not try Pardus 2008 yet, because currently it is a beta version - not a final.

If the Thread is solved for you, please edtit it in your first post.

No, there isn't nothing so solve; I had a question and get the answer for them. That's a Thread, where future users can discuss about making live cd/dvd’s of installed Pardus Linux systems.

If I have tested "Pardusman", than I will continue this thread ...

Mklivecd only works for Debian.

Pardus has its own tool to make a custom CDs, called Pardusman. It's currently
not user-friendly but as part of Google Summer of Code, it'll become suitable
for end-users.

And have a look here

Andreas

That's it!!!
I was looking for something like them. Thank you !  Smiley

If I get pardusman working, than I'll let you know.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

With "Isomaster" you can only modify the content of iso images or create an iso image of several files, like compressed archive.

But you can't create live-cd/dvd from an installed Pardus operating system like especially in PCLinuxOS by using “mklivecd”.

163  Assistance / Software / Live-CD/DVD's with "mklivecd" on Pardus on: May 15, 2008, 12:03:25 PM
Hi to all,

does someone know, how to create a Live-CD of an existing Pardus Linux (installed on Harddisk ...) ?

In example PCLinuxOS uses the application "mklivecd". So users of PCLinuxOS can make by "mklivecd" their own live-cd’ (an *.iso image, wich man can burn on empty cd or dvd media) …

Here you can read more about "mklivecd":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mklivecd
http://livecd.berlios.de/

I hope that futur releases of Pardus Linux will be able to creat of them live-cd's too Smiley

"Pardus Onca" for Pardus Linux 2008 could be a good name:
