33  Assistance / Software / Re: Pardus-Sounds on: February 22, 2009, 00:43:03 AM
Hi altogether Smiley

this sound collection is made by the German Pardus Community, PardusUser.de:

I published them at KDE-Look.org. It is a community work of PardusUser.de - most of the sounds are made from our our member aka "lutz-tux".

To use these sounds go to TASMA > Sound and Multimedia > Systemsounds
In this window you choose easily your sound on each action.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask - I'm sure that the out great "friend-community" Worldforum.pardus-linux.nl will help you out Wink

If share your Computer with other users, than you can save memory, if you store these sound files at:
/usr/kde/3.5/share/sounds/ (you need Root privilegs to do this -> just run "kdesu konqueror" Wink )

OGG is the free version of MP3! All Linux operating System are supporting OGG - there ist no need to convert them to WAV oder some other audio formats.

Feel free to use and share the rocking Pardus ! Cheesy

Best regards from PardusUser.de,

Hi to all,

a bug report for same issue is already existing, I wrote it in Turkish few months ago:

You can try to explain your problems - which are similar to my one's - in English. But it seems that nothing is going on, perhaps the Pardus Linux developer are not interested to fix/solve this issue ...   Undecided ?

Hi together,

an user from the German Pardus Linux community forum has troubles with his printer EPSON EPL 6200 L:

The native CUPS driver in Pardus does not support this hardware, but there is a project which develops special drivers for this kind of Epson printers called “Epson EPL Driver”:

Other Linux operating systems like Mandriva serves a package for this driver:

Ozan Çağlayan form the bug tracking built the same package for Pardus Linux:

On Mandriva Linux this printer works well, but whatever not on Pardus Linux Huh?

So if anybody has the same printer can he/she help us in the bug tracking to solve this issue (in English)?

Thank a lot for future feedback Wink

42  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: Font rendering in GTK+ apps on: September 10, 2008, 11:28:03 AM
Hi all,

I have installed 2008.1 beta, but I think I had that problem in 2008, too.

I have installed gtk-qt theme engine and set GTK to use my KDE theme and fonts, but fonts are rendered significantly worse in GTK than in Qt. What should I do to make fonts in GTK look exactly as it does in Qt?

Hi temcat,

the option "Use my KDE style in GTK application" in "Appearance & Themes > GTK Styles and fonts" has no effekt for font rendering. With this option GTK applications uses same font settings (like size and style of fonts ...) as KDE applications, but not anti-aliasing of fonts. You can configure Anti-aliasing for fonts  in "Appearance & Themes > Fonts and settings" (hope "Fonts and settings" is correct description, because I'm using German system ... Grin )

Perhaps "QtCurve" design can help out, but I'm not sure ...

Kindly regards,
43  Assistance / Software / KMobileTools for Pardus 2008 on: September 04, 2008, 00:07:51 AM
Hi to all,

I build a PiSi package for KMobileTools from the SVN, some minutes ago. I need KMobileTools for my SonyEricsson K550i, it supports SE mobile phones well.
You can download them here:
(it's multilingual - not only german  Tongue Grin)

I'm also wondering, why KMobileTools is available for Pardus 2007.3 but (still) missing in Pardus 2008  Huh?
