Any news here? My firewall still comes inactivated after reboot, though I checked it on Tasma.

Bandito, thanks for your replay. I share your opinion. I've used Lotus Symphony beta (something) on Linux Mint and I've enjoyed very much. Let's see if anything comes out of this wish. eheheh
18  Assistance / Configuring Pardus / Re: ipw3945 problem on: July 24, 2008, 18:26:40 PM
I'm on Pardus 2008. I will have to check this issue some more times to see if this problem persists.

Thanks

Hi!

I would like to recommend the developers of this wonderful distro the following programs to be pisi packaged:

1- Lotus Symphony 1
http://symphony.lotus.com/software/lotus/symphony/home.jspa

2- OxygenOffice Professional
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooop

3- Froswire (I know that there is Limewire but it would be nicier to have a free version like this one)
http://www.frostwire.com/

Thank for your attention and work.

I'm also using an Intel 3945abg wireless chipset. The wireless is working but everytime the system boots and arrives into the desktop the network manager can't connect automatically. I have to uncheck the connection and check it again and then all works just fine.

I have checked the option "try auto connect at startup".

Any guess?

22  Assistance / Software / Re: The Most Slowest Linux Apps on: May 10, 2008, 17:35:09 PM
try linux mint, there is firefox in lightening speed, but openoffice is slow everywhere, I prefor abiword, very fast

Try Mac OSX Wink , why should anyone install Linux Mint? It is ugly Gnome, and it is just a shell around Ubuntu. The thread is about why Firefox and OpenOffice cant be tweaked to be faster in Pardus. Maybe this will be better in Pardus 2008, but I doubt it, since it is a known Firefox, OpenOffice issue.

Just to say that Linux Mint isn't just around Gnome. Wink They have a beautiful KDE edition.

But sticking to the topic, I don't agree. Firefox is fast on Linux Mint KDE, as already mentioned, but yes, openoffice.org is really slow. I try to use Koffice instead.

It makes sense now. Thanks.

Just a little question: how come Ubuntu and friends have the dolphin manager and Pardus not? I'm talking about distro's without KDE4...

I'm using dolphin on KDE 3.5.8 and I didn't compile it.

28  Assistance / Laptop / Re: Brightness change on Pardus 2007.3 on: April 27, 2008, 20:05:44 PM
Anyone? I would really like to stick with Pardus but if can't reduce the brightness of my laptop monitor I will have to call for a substitute. Having the brightness this way is hurting my eyes... :'(
